Thread: Plea to the devs: Lack of resources ruining fun.

Well, I've been a master armoursmith for 5 weeks now. I have yet to make any advanced ubese, or any kind of composite armour whatsoever. Why not? lack of desire? no. lack of skill? no. lack of tools? no. too lazy to go look for resources? no. physical lack of resources? yes.

This is a game, games are about fun. I don't mind shortages of resources, most of us would consider say, OQ 400 axidite iron to be a lack of resources... but no... 5 weeks without axidite iron spawning at all, 5 weeks (and who knows how long it has been missing) without beryllius copper (which finally spawned a day ago) and many other resources (dolovite ironif you're a doc) have only just started spawning in months.

All I ask is that they look at the code for this and perhaps change it so there is a higher chance of low quality resource spawning, rather than not spawning it at all, because its just plain no fun to not be even able to make low quality items. If they can't do this, at least tell us why we have to go months without critical resources spawning.

This is just my personal opinion but I believe that every kind of resource should spawn ATLEAST once a month.

I don't agree with your premise that anything should be changed, but I do know how it sux to not be able to make something due to lack of a particular resource. I had to wait about a month to get Beyrllius copper. (Might have been longer...don't recall) When it did spawn, it wasn't very good.

Welcome to the master crafting world.

If you think we have it rough, you should take a look at all the named resources needed for weaponsmith. I heard that there were no t-21 rifles on a particular server for the first 6 months or so. The resource just didn't spawn.

I would at least like to know why it is this way. I hate to think what the casual player must endure to even make something. I have been here since september 1 so I am used to these resource shortages (was a doc then), it's just that now that i've taken up armoursmith, the shortages have mutlplied. This is just not fun. I am just waiting around to be able to make something, wasting my monthly fee not being able to do anything. It's not right.

I believe starsider was that server that had no T-21's for the first 6 months. I never saw anyone with onetill around xmas.

Also, add to this, that at all times, all creature resources and all flora resources always exist.

Just the way it works I guess. I concentrated on Ubese until the copper spawned.

As a doc, you were probably always waiting for class4.

I think one of the problems is the way people choose to achieve master status. I did a little grinding, but not a whole lot. I think that the time I spent doing other things helped. There's no way I could have made much in the way of armor, if I had ground my way to master in a few days. I just wouldn't have had the needed resouces.

As a Master Armorsmith since october, i'm really fed up with trying to find 1800+ ressources for my composite.

So, my regular advanced composite (on Kauri) is about 40% all, selling the full set at 100k.

Now that my char is Master Artisan, Master Armorsmith, 0300 Tailor and the rest in Merchant, i'm feeling i pay too much $$ for 1 char that i can't do anything with but craft crap armor (that is selling not that bad to newbies).

I just wish they made Crafting Skill Points differentfrom Combat Skill Points (like in ALL the other games except UO, where i had an alt GM Smith). I made Legendary Armorer in DAoC and was #2 Smith of my realm with my 50 Bard, and that was fun.

That with all the bugs with crafting composite, experimentation in particular (special resist raising when experimenting in durability, or special resist suddently jumping 10 points if you experiment the full line of base resist, or kinetic resist not going up on layered kinetic segments when experimenting special protection...), it really makes me sick they made one whole publish for only 1 profession (DE), and still the 30+ other are waiting for bug fixes. Oh and thx for the Armor Hole bug Fix, which i don't care cause i can't fight.

CU in WoW.

Striving to gain the necessary resources and then constantly searching to improve them is all part of being an elite crafting profession.

When I started I had to make some contacts with resource suppliers and also trade materials with more established Master Armoursmiths to get what I needed. If you treat the profession as a social experiance then you will have an easier time. If you want to solo then the way will be harder. Humm - sounds somewhat like the combat professions and thus almost as though someone had planned it this way....

Yup, you must be new. None of those are bugs. That is how Composite is suppose to work. Or would you rather go back to 8% electric protection?

Being the #2 Smith just meant you probably had a couple more points than the next guy. Crafting in Camelot was pretty boring since everything was exactly the same.

Does anyone else get really annoyed when new AS have their panties in a bunch because they can't make the best composite right away? Took me 3 weeks to finally get resources to make Composite back in August, then I got to make my awesome 34% Advanced suits It just takes time to get the resources and then you can make Advanced Comp and Ubese, etc...

The best resources for ubese that we have seen spawned in the last month.

Only thing we have not seen is the bey copper for comp. Other than that, we havehad the best spawns for segment resources at the same time as the ubese stuff.

Welcome to MAS. Your going to need to try a little harder now.
