Thread: I figured you folks would appreciate this for what it is
I like this part. Amused me because we are still making the same stuff, just different skins now....
IGNPC: Is there a similar issue behind the new armor certifications?
Dallas Dickinson: Actually, the armor certification has another issue that we addressed very well. There was just one maximal version of armor. Everyone had that one armor. We wanted to make it so that some armors were better for some classes and were better for certain situations, and some armors were better for other classes and were better for other situations, so there was not an optimal strategy. The optimal strategy was what everyone wore. You saw everyone wearing the same armor and fighting in the same armor.
In fact, if you were an armor smith, that was the only thing you could make. Now there are actually a lot of choices for armor smiths. You can make very specialized things for players. That gives you more value as a crafter, because you're not competing with everyone in the world who are all making the exact same armor. This allows you to carve out a niche. It's an enhancement to the crafting game and makes crafters with specific skills much more valuable to a player association, to a city and to the game generally.
Wow - reading is a skill it seems no one in this thread has.
Dallas Dickinson: "We've been testing it for a full month, both internally and on the test center. We were simply not at the point of getting enough feedback from people. A number of things had come out, and we had fixed all of them."

In other words, they KNEW they were releasing a buggy upgrade, but did it anyway because the people on test center WEREN'T REPORTING THE PROBLEMS.
They aren't claiming they had the CURB bug free - they are saying they weren't getting any feedback from the TC players, so they felt compelled to go live with it in order to get better feedback, which based on the whining about it, has done the trick.
Seriously, you people are so out of your goard that you are INTENTIONALLY taking things out of context, just so you can cry some more.
Give it a rest - if you are going to quote someone, at least get the context right.
Maybe you are missing the spin. Do you honestly think they weren't getting feedback? All of the bugs, all of the Cors, countless user-started forums threads, dev-started feedback threads, dev-started bug threads.
The point is they claim they weren't getting feedback yet they were overwhelmed with it. Not as you suggest that we think they are saying they were releasing a perfect product.
No, not missing that, but I have a hard time believing people because a lot of the feedback I saw was "this system sucks, change it back" or people wanting the devs to unbalance the game by making a change.
In terms of ACTUAL BUGS, I at least saw very little discussed in this forum, and not too much in other forums.
Bugs very well may have been reported, but I can tell you, it certainly was hard to find the legit bugs from the people just pissing and moaning, so I hardly blame them.

Were you here when they were testing the conversion process on pre-CU goods? We've still got bugs with that today that were being talked about here before the combat (combat?) upgrade.

I find it hard to believe they weren't getting enough feedback. The daily focus threads were full of them. Conversion bugs and bugs related to the new code.
Now its possible they weren't getting feedback on areas they thought they'd would, but then they should have had a better testing plan.

You just read what you want to read don't you?
If you take the time to check out other profession forums you will find bug reports / threads that were started during TC and a huge amount of those bugs still exist in live. I am amazed how you jump to conclusions without any backing whatsoever and keep rehashing your "b1tching and moaning argument".
Newsflash : Most of usare beyond that now, we try to figure outwhether this system is worth staying with. We don't need you to bring the discussion back to the low level it used to be on.
only 40 or 50 people was testing it in test center?lol
one would think that because the CU sucks so bad, no one wants to play it

Zion, in terms of actual bugs... it was discussed. Armor was reportedly not working at times, it was reported, we never heard back on any of it... we're still providing feedback on bugs and balance issues related to actual crafting of the armor. The experimentation and lack there of, the now broken experimentation on layers, the factory times, the resource requirements, if you would take the time to remove your lips from their ass cheeks, you'd see that the pissing and moaning is because of the bugs. A broken system is a bug, it was not well thought out and does not function properly.
IGNPC: "Let's talk about the practical implementation of the upgrade. Why did you guys decide to go live with it when you did?"
