acid and stun still vulnerable with the new schematic. also, you can add a 3rd layer...definately a step in the right direction.

With the addition of a third layer, and a slot for Power Cubes (I used a 5% Yellow one) It is extremely easy to hit 80% before slice. The vulnerabilities remain, making the 80% useless, but we all hope the devs will patch one of the vulnerabilities soon.

Or at least we should start hoping. This deserves a petition, or something.

The schematic can make 5 segments, which amounts to more pieces of RIS than most Servers have Kimo scales, so I assume that from now on, all RIS will be Interwoven.

Now what I want to see is the Interwoven Bone Armor schematic my friend looted from the Acklay. Yes, bone armor.I have not used it with my Armorsmith yet, but I will post a SS when I do.

I'm going to say this once, and once only:

This is a company, one that is out to make money, so banning people who hadn't done anything wrong would be really dumb since it would mean that we would be losing money. So before you just believe someone who says they are being wrongfully punished take a moment and reflect.

Also, ranting/flaming and attacking customer service isn't going to fly on these boards so any further posts about it will result in the suspension of that person's forum account.

Everything is the same except the 3rd layer slot, the Geonosian Power Cube, and Yavinian Animal Bones instead of Rori Fiberplast. Stat range is the same.

w/ 2 7% NS layers, 1 10% NS layer, a 5% yellow G. power cube, and a -34 mind encum NS shard I made a helm w/ 80% base, 67% Kinetic, and 144 mind encum before slice. If I had put all the extra exp points into encum instead of kinetic, I probably could have hit 110 or so mind encum.

It got a 28% encum slice, down to 104 mind encum.

Overall, a great ultra-light helmet. It's a good complement to my NS layered, NS sharded, 90% composite suit, for a total of 0 action encum and 208 mind encum in the whole suit (health encum still sucks).

The vulnerabilities are a big disappointment though. I was hoping to use an RIS helm as my secret weapon against Jawa head shots, but when the stats stopped shifting, stun was always a vulnerability.

W/ 48% base Imperial Prototype PSGs it's not that bad though.

What/where are "aaklay"? Does the new schematic still require a scale (I assume so)? Where do you get a Genoshian Power Cube?

Does the Geonosian Power cube addits % to everything, or just base?

Also, as long as the Acid vulnerability is still there thearmor's worth is really lowered. If someone has some GDK scales to burn, here's an experiment to try.

Use the Acklay Interwoven Segment schematic. Use a Sharnaff Plate enhancer in order to pull Heat and Acid out of vulnerability and up into special protection. Use the best Geonosian Power Cube you can find to bump the resists up further. Use three stun layers so that you can get stun protection the same as what it is in composite helms. For experimentation, try to get Kinetic up to 80% and then use the rest to get the Base resists up as high as possible. Assuming that Acid and Heat, when pushed into SP by a Sharnaff Plate work the same as when Heat and Cold are pushed into SP by a Rancor Hide enhancer, then you should hopefully be able to get everything in SP, except stun, up to 80%. Now here's where the crucial thing comes in. Hopefully after maxing out SP, you'll have enough experimentation points left that along with the extra 3rd layer and the nice Geonosian Cube you'll be able to get the base resists up to at least the mid 60s. If you could pull that off and then get a good effectiveness slice, you could end up with an RISpiece that has approximately 40% stun, 80% Kinetic, Acid, and Heat, and 80-90% Base. It would still have a vulnerability to Cold, but how many rifleman whip out their SG82 in PvP? Not to mention that the Rifleman would probably assume you had a vulnerability to acid still so he'd just be plugging away with his new Tenloss rifle instead. I guess what it comes down to, is that if you can get some uber Geonosian Power Cubes, you stand a decent chance of making PvP worthy RIS armor.

Any armorsmith on Sunrunner wanna try this out. My guild will hunt down some scales for you too use on the condition that if this does work. You provide some of us with a discounts price on a few sets of this armor and we will provide the scales to test this out. I would love some of this if it is possible. LMK and I will tell you how to contact me ingame.

who has actually MADE armor pieces with the new schematic? i have...and the vulnerabilities on old ris on sunrunner were always stun, heat, cold, acid....now with the new segments it's just stun and acid (using 1 ns layer and 2 kinetic layers). can other servers confirms this? if so, i'd like to see other ideas on how to maximize the armor's usability.

i was thinking i could try my 19% NS armor layer +1 acid layer +1 stun layer to get everything protected...acid and stun would still be quite low, but at least it would be something. the base stats would easily be 80% leaving some experementation for kinetic.

i'm skeptical of the sharnaff plate because ris has proven that when krayt scales are used, the specials dont experement up whenyou bump the base stats (special protections more/less equal the modifier on the scale)..why would this be different for sharnaff? the only reason i think the rancor works differently is because it has a base modifier ANDa specials modifier (sharnaff doesn't have a base, does it?). so i'm guessing sharnaff will work more like krayt than rancor. i hope to be proven wrong, though.

Yeah. There will be no way to know for certain until someone tries it out. As for the Krayt scales, the only time I ever saw someone using one of them in RIS was back when RIS still had no vulnerabilities and was stricken by the stat shift bug. Its possible that Krayt scales now work right in the new version of RIS.

not likely because kinetic special protection did not experement up when i worked on quality on the interwoven helm i made last night.

Well, after doing some more looking around I'm going to have to go back on what I said earlier and advise AGAINST the suggested built that I put above. My reason for this is that I say the screen shot for the RIS helm that Daymeeuhn/Naecabon has up for auction on Starsider. You can see the helm at the link below...

http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=44139&poll_id=0&warned=y

I'll have to talk to Zyrcis for sure, but from the statsshown I'm guessing that he used a standard two-layered RIS segment fitted with a Sharnaff Plate, one Stun Layer, and one Cold Layer. The Sharnaff Plate caused both Acid and Heat, which are normally vulnerabilities on RIS, to be moved into Special Protections. The depressing thing however, is that while Heat did experiment up in the same it did when a Rancor Hide was used, Acid did not experiment up and stayed at only 3%. This leads me to believe that Acid and Stun are RIS's true vulnerabilities, and that Heat and Cold appearing as vulnerabilities is just a bug.

What this all means is that there really is no way to make a piece of RIS armor that is equal to or better than Composite. The only possible way I can see to make it work now is you were to loot a set of legendary Stun Layers, legendary Acid Layers, and ora legendary Sharnaff Plate.

So I guess my excitement over the new Interwoven RIS segment was for nothing. I can only hope the Devs start listening to the playerbase and fix RIS to make it at least comprable to composite.

i'm sorry for the newb post, but i have some questions about this interwoven RIS armor. I'm not an armorsmith so i'm not sure exactly what this new interwoven stuff does, but i've been collecting the Drops enoughto make a full suit w/ the exception of the GDK scale (btw has the drop rate been fixed?). So i have some questions:

Is interwoven a substitue for the original RIS (in other words for those who didn't collect all the pieces)

Is RIS even worth the trouble, yes i do plan on using it in combat, so 80% range unsliced on most stats is important to me.

What geo cubes (color/stats) are used in making this new interwoven RIS and are their anymore drops?

I didn't make some of the peices because i heard it was being fixed and could be made better, so does anyone know if the stat shifting bug has been fixed? i was kind of holding out on making it until it was fixed. Sorry for all the questions but i'd like to know wheter now is a good time to use my drops and make some RIS pieces. Thanks for helping me out.
