Thread: What will it take to get you to go to the Deathwatch Bunker?
The first couple times I'd probably go for a lark, just for something new to do. After that tho it'd take things like... I dunno... stacks of resources (old resources that I need), +3 AS exp tapes/assembly tapes, letting me keep one of the BH armor peices, ect.

This is a good point, and a good question. I personally don't have a lot of money so I might do it for some credits, but that's beside my point.
In all the other adventure-crafting tie in stuff they have (loot schematics) the generally accepted, and IMHO extremely fair, practice was an exchange of schematic and enough loot items (ie heavy leathers) for two items in exchange for one of the items. This way, in exchange for the investment in time and opportunity costs (via AP) that the crafter is using, as well as for supplying the non-loot materials, the crafter gets a nice little gift, and everyone is happy.
In this case, though, you need three crafters, unless you have an alt that is all three, so is it fair to demand a peice of the armor for your time and effort? Obviously, if we get a piece the other two should get one too. Assuming drop rates in the cave will be higher than what we are seeing with the random spawns on Endor, this actually does seem rather fair to me. You get 9 (or 10)pieces of the most prestigeous (sp?) realistic armor in the game (RIS is not realistic) for the cost of 3 pieces.
I appologize for my horrible spelling and use of parentheticals. I'm rather tired, and don't really care at this point.
I wouldn't expect an expidition setting out to make mandolorian armor to have only a small number of peices tho. If anything there should be a number of people each with their own pieces, all with multiple pieces. Why waste the time doing so if only for a handfull of armor parts?
If it's just one person leading the expedition, with only enough for one suit of mand. armor, then yes it would be a bit much to expect a piece for each crafter. However good luck to a single person in luring 3 different elite crafters into a hole in the ground for less then huge chunks of cash.
I'd only do it for the few friends I talk to online (I think only one of them can wear the Mando armor due to certs though). I guess if it's fun the first time, I'll do it for Experimentation, Assembly, or Repair tapes or cash I would use to buy said tapes.

It seems that the general attitude in this thread is whats in it for me? Well, you know, your allowed to do something for someone without neccesarily EXPECTING reward. Go have fun for a change!
Now I can understand not being willing to go along with total random strangers for hours on end. But I'd expect that alot/most smiths have a loyal base of customers, and I think they could reasonably expect there favorite smith to help them out if they offer sufficient compensation.
I'll go. For the fun of it. Hope it stays fun for more than a couple trips.
I would like to think the devs thought of this and have provided some worthwhile loot that would entice the crafters.
For example, I frequently pay Ackley a visit. I'm after an Interwoven schematic and the padded hide. 'course, after I get 2 schematics, I probably won't continue. Maybe one, if it's possible to make a schematic with one of it's uses.

From the other side of the fence, If I asked a smith that I've been a loyal customer of, and have given him many many of my hard earned credits to come with me and offered to pay him in credits/materials and he refused me? Time to find a better smith. If you don't cater to your customers, you won't have any.

First, define "loyal customer". Is that one that goes to the same guy to buy armor? If so, many smiths have LOTS of loyal customers. I couldn't imagine being expected to go to the cave everytime one ofthese loyal cutomers wanted to. Usually, they're buying my armor because I have competitive prices and it's available. This proves nothing about loyalty.
Now. If you mean the type of "loyal customer" that frequently offers loot to my vendor for 1cr and doesn't really want a custom set made. Just "picked this up and thought you'd like it" type of customer. Or maybe goes and harvests hide.."cuzz I was bored and you mentioned it was good". Then yes. I'd be happy to go out of my way to help him out.
Money? Most of us have a good source of income. I know I'd be making tons, IF I spent more time making and advertising myarmor. I keep a few sets of Ubese, Wookie and comp on my vendor. Otherwise, I'm out killing GDKs or Ackley.
The bottom line....people have things to do and goals to meet. Considering I can't wear this armor, It gets moved lower on my list. My friends and "loyal customers" have the ability to move it higher.
