Thread: Customers... Suck...

Maybe novices are trying desperately to drum up buisness, but I recently made master on my server and have had nothing but headaches. I was so proud of my title and wore it wherever I went.

Mistake number 1.

After getting 15 tells an hour for composite armor, I finally took off my title and stopped crafting armor.

My last few days have been focused on gathering tons of resources for composite.

I plan on factory crafting 100 suits of composite armor and then slapping them on my vendor. After that, I'll post on the gorath board with waypoint and just let people come to them.

I have been really dissapointed by a large number of annoying players riding me for composite.

Perhaps with the next weekly list we should add in a request for /tell filters that allow you to only get tells from your friends list... everyone else can email you if they really want to get in touch.

Guess this is another factor in buisness that i'm learning. When the demand is high, customer service is a huge job. One that I can't do by myself. So i'm just going to not offer any customer service any more. I've got no problem moving my gear at whatever price I want to set.

Ahhh the woes of being a rich master armorsmith.

Anyway.. got to find an equilibrium here where I can supply to the player base and enjoy it in the proccess. i think factories will allow for that.

Time to work on that pistoleer stuff, eh? It's always heartening to hear a success story. There's two sides to it: either you're annoyed and rich or bored and poor. I'll go for the first until I get my fill of it...:-)

I droped architech because of the flood of tells and mail. I am now all combat and having run.

Takes a certain type of person to be an artisen (higher level) and I obviously was not that person as my head about exploded.

Been there... Done that..

Well.. I've basically become really curt to most players in tells if I respond at all.

I'm just going the factory production route.

I plan on making armor mostly for my PA members. Different ranks will receive better armor, which will be used on hunts, fights, etc. Any extra that I feel like crafting will be sold to a vendor.

I hear what you're saying Zen, but what's worse is the morons that have to do a /who search to find you, can see that you have Novice Armorsmith as your title, and still ask if you can make composite.

I really think that for crafters another title should be available, 'Tard Magnet.

Good luck making composite in the factory.... At last test the multi-segment items didn't work in a factory

I crafted 100 composite gloves and I'm pretty sure i'll be able to do the multi-segment things.

I've got a schematic for 1000 composite segments cooking in one of my factories now. Make sure you use one crate to extract schematic bits from. once you do that, that crate won't work in your factory. So if I have 1000 composite segments and wanted to make 100 gloves, i'd take out one of my crates of segments and make a schematic with them. Then i'd take out 2 of the crates (50 in each) and put them in my ingredient hopper.

Like I said. Gloves work. I tried them first because they required fewer segments than the others.

Will report back on progress... I'll do helmets next I think. then boots, then arm parts, then legs, then chests last.

I'm working my tail off finding resource providers in my galaxy that can get me materials in large quantities. I really am not careing about quanities right now. The mentality on my server is ABSURD.

When I made my composite gloves schematic, I made a couple of prototypes that I wasn't happy with (energy is specialized at 2% on my gloves and won't raise with resist experimentation).

on a lark, i put that prototype pair of gloves up on my vendor and not 20 minutes later did someone buy it at 22k credits.

My vendor isn't even advertised on the planetary map and I don't give out it's location any more!

is that nuts or what? Anyway.. will report back on factory crafting multi-segmented armor.

Actually, there is an /anon function. Under ctrl-p and character there is a box in the lower left corner that says "make this character searchable". If you uncheck that, it puts you in as anon.

I hear ya. I was so proud when I got my expert and master of armor design titles... and you can't wear them anywhere. I didn't even dare put up my master armorsmith flag when I got it.

I think the most annoying thing for me, is the people that run right past my vendor in my house to where I am crafting to ask me what armor I can make and what stats they have.

Anyhow... I have basically take the same approach. I am anon AND afk lol.

Wow, Master Armorsmith's whining because they cannot keep their vendors stocked and that tons of customers want to give them money? You're kidding right?

Tell you what, I will trade you my toon for your Master. You can struggle to make a decent buck for Ubese that Master's are giving away and I will take over your million credit problems. Excuse me now while I go throw up.
