I was just sitting here dazing at my wall in boredom and realized the next best thing since sliced bread!, armor coloring kits. Ever since composite was allowed to change colors ive been wondering why they dont allow it for all armor. So i propose that armorsmiths are allowed to craft armor coloring kits, which all any player to use one use per piece of armor to chose the colors. This would help create so much less confusion when picking colors on RIS for example. I know that right now the only major armor used is composite, but with the revamp im hoping more styles will become more popular. Tell me what you guys think about the idea of armor color kits? Also, what about for tailors to have clothing color kits also. And then even call me crazy, weapon coloring kits. The possibilities are infinite.

dont like it

we would just become factory beasts

take padded for example, people charge a lot for good padded because it is hand made because of the colors, now we would just crank it out of factories.

I would support the abilities to add post craft logos (like a rebel insignia) or something like that

I definitely agree with you there. I would hope to build an even wider customer base by making custom armor.

Armor Color kits are an interesting idea... but I think it would just take some of the fun away from it all.

Players realy appreciate a custom padded smith. I am one of the few on ahazi, and I get many extra thank you's when I make a set of armor for someone. To be really successful, treat it like a custom tailoring - having junk segs/resources to make the customer a few samples (so they can see color combos they are considering) goes a long way and makes them feel special.

They should make these for RIS so our customers can see how horrible the choices are for themselves.

Yes, it would be great if both RIS and Mandalorian had the same color change option as composite. Nothing is worse than trading a player their shiny new RIS and hearing something like "Oh, that is the blue you meant."

Yea the custom padded people will cry but ohh well.. I dont here anyone complaining that comp is now changeable,, why not make custom composite, to get colors? cuase they would lose tons of money or spend tons of time making custom colors.

You dont here um braging about being custom mabari makers,.. or brag about there full color choices for chiten, they are custom padded cuase they can charge tons and tons to make it just cuase people have money to burn cause its soo easy to get..people buy padded cuase they like the looks, not the protection,, composite is lighter, and has more protection than padded. Also its not like smiths are broke

But screw the kits,,., make it a pay per color station in the NPC's this game needs a money sink soo bad make it a pay per piece and they can pick the colors they want.. id even go as far as to take every color outta the armorer palet just to get more people paying to sink money outta the game.

I'm a mass produceing smith, I make hundreds of suits at a time. I HATE HAND CRAFTING PADDED!!

I dont charge so much for padded because its custom... no i charge so much because it takes so much HIDE...

25k yavin wooly for 1k segs...(humm how many suits of comp can i make with that? like 200ish?)humm whats that, 55 suits? BAH! and a min to hire a hunter is 50+++CPU.

The cost CPU wise on padded is most costly because of 4 needed resources costing 50+ CPU, I say + because when a REALLY good spawn pops you know some idiot desperate smith goes and pays 100 CPU now EVERY hunter wants that... /sigh

I would love color packs... I mean come on... make 1k color packs in a factory in less then 48 hours?

I do make padded in the factory, but Only the most wanted colors, and i only run like 20 at a time of them

If I could just make 1 schem. toss it all in at once then a 100 suit run it would be and then sell the crap out of color packs...

Yup, I could only wish...

Wow! I was looking for this exact topic and it was on top of the forums! LOL

I wholeheartedly agree that there should either be color kits for armor OR a preset color pallet that comes with special armors (much like composite and the special edition goggles.) I'm so torn deciding what color I should make my mandalorian helmet. It would be extremely helpful if there was a color kit or some means of changing the shading.

I think everybody wants to change their dull Bounty Hunter armor into something stylish like the Bounty Hunter NPC Trainers have.

I would love to turn the Marauder biceps into a silver color (instead of gold.)

RIS armor definitely needs a color options. There are alot of cool color combos one can make, but tastes change and we can't alter the tint on an extremely expensive and sought after armor.

Mandalorian is the same issue as RIS. We need a preset color pallet, much like the composite or special edition goggles. We work too hard to be stuck with one color. Afterall, you get 5 minutes to craft it and under stress, an armorsmith might pick the wrong colors on the armor.

To prevent the issue of armorsmiths becoming factories, I suggest the kits be exclusive to rare armors. This would perpetuate player quests to look cool AND it would break away from the conformity of Composite.
