Good. I don't know where the rumor got started, but it never sounded plausible.
2: Many Changes will be coming to armor, but that is no reason to stop what you're doing now, and you shouldcontinue to keepworking with your buisness in the same manner as before
Though I might speculate thatit would be a good idea to start looking at and collecting resources for armor other than composite?
In that same vein, and assuming that Padded Armor becomes viable and demanded, I'm hoping they address the Yavinian Wooly Hide scarcity issue (random Woolamander spawns with Harrowers as boss mobs ala Gurks on Lok would solve two problems at once ... hint, hint).
3: You do not need to worry about holding off on making RIS in the fears of losing very valuable components
My only concern in this area is thatif they go with anArmorCertification System, people who have spent untold millions of credits on RIS suits will be ... shafted ... when the CU comes around.
4: I can't tell you many many many things I want to about CU, but I assure that you all have nothing to worry about and will be very excited when you see the changes.
I'm not so worried as I am skeptical. I never thought combat was all that broken to begin with. Completely scrapping and rebuilding the core combat system of a game 1.3+ years into its release doesn't particularly bode well.

What? Yavin wooly drops from mamiens as well, which are a dime a dozen.
You ever try to gather or buy300K Yavinian Wooly Hide?
Mamiens may be a dime a dozen, but they are rather low-level and do not provide nearly as much hide as would be necessary if we would be making a ton of Padded armor with advanced segments. Mamiens con blue or light blue to combat profession masters. Woolamanders con white. You'll have a much easier time getting a ton of Yavinian Wooly hide if folks can pull missions on them, too.
Plus there's the whole "Harrower Bone Camping" issue.

Thanks for the update

I am an old school hand crafter, so this never bothered me.
2: Many Changes will be coming to armor, but that is no reason to stop what you're doing now, and you shouldcontinue to keepworking with your buisness in the same manner as before
Check.
3: You do not need to worry about holding off on making RIS in the fears of losing very valuable components
Wasn't, but the update/tip is greatly appreciated.
4: I can't tell you many many many things I want to about CU, but I assure that you all have nothing to worry about and will be very excited when you see the changes.
Already excited
5: There will be many rumors bouncing around about the CU, please remember that people who actually know what's going on signed an NDA so tight we can't tell you anything or face very very bad things from SOE, these are rumors, and further, since it is alpha, what may have been true a week ago might be changed and could no longer be a problem a week from now.
6: Don't Panic!
7: Never Forget your towel.
<Panics>
That is all, please everyone, take a few deep breaths, and go back to your buisnesses.
