God, i hope this doesn't happen to me, i just started making 40% stun armor, and have to use a really old gem where oq+sr is 1950 and cost me 100cpu, (it's 1920 on my metal and about 1300 on my ore) had nothing to do with nerf day....

Does that thread provide any evidence that that was what was happening? From what I read it provides no proof. For all I could tell, the guy was lying.

I read about the incident in chilly too. I've also seen posts in the past relating to the same topic.

Jaato, it's about time we asked the devs to release the official math on how crafting works. I'm tired of being afraid to do my best crafting in fear of being labelled a cheater by CSRs who are uninformed.

Stun layers require non-ferrous metal, vertex crystalline gemstone and crism siliclastic ore. Only the ore appears to have a maximum value for the SR around 320. Using this value for the ore SR and the theoretical maximum of 1000 for all other stats, one can estimate the maximum possible stun to be 41%. Using the highest stats for these resources as found in swgcraft.com on all servers, the maximum stun is 39%. The resources in the database for Bloodfin would yield only 38%. For anything higher old resources of extremely high quality must have been used.

Well, I've made 40% on radiant. It is very possible to get a "freak" schematic which would allow 40% stun on another server as well.

Just kidding, of course. Its things like this and phrases that SOE uses like "Superior Customer Service" that make comedy for my day.

We've had an amazing spawn of vertex gem, some incredible aluminum, and a couple good shifts of crism on Shadowfire. 40% stun is possible for us. CSR's can be so farking clueless sometimes.

Anyone care to explain to me how we can "exploit" the crafting process?

No, seriously, myself and another armorsmith have made 40% stun armor, had some really old, and really good crism ore.

The SWGcraft database is very incomplete, i know for a fact that we can make 40% stun on eclipse

Yeah the swgcraft database should not be used as the only source when determining what is doable or not. It is lacking a lot of resources and was actually down a few months ago leaving out quite a few resources.
