Thread: Petition for better wooly hide

1.) Thanks for one starring jsut because you didn't agree. That = Immature
2.) You're totally narrow sighted. What about folks who just became armorsmiths? What about new players who decided they wanted to make armor? How can you justify long periods of absolute crap because they should have been stockpiling resources before they chose to become an armorsmith or before they even started playing?
My guess is you're one of 'the few' on your server and like things just the way they are with little competition. Other people like to play this game too, hoss.
Boskee - Couldn't agree more with you.

I have to agree with Ryche on this one.
1.) Gving someone a one star is not immature. It is expressing ones opinion. Not being able to handle the fact that you got a one star without complaining about it is immature.
2.) Everybody has to start at the bottom and work their way to the top. Ihave only been a MA for 2 weeks now. I did not stockpile resources for months. I did not start with a huge bank account. I found a niche and filled it. I just made my first million credits on saturday.
My guess is that you are someone who grinded their way to master armoursmith and expected to be able to make the best armour the same day. Once you found out that you can't do it, you want it handed to you.
Areriye - Sorry, didn't 1 star you...............just gave you my opinion. Chill out sweetheart. I'm not narrow sighted. Nobody said being a Master Armorsmith was easy. Its easy to find Wooly Hide for sale on the bazaars, granted its not that good usually, but its readily available and fairly cheap. Quality doesn't matter to much for those just starting out, not much you could do with only a couple experiment points. What they are supposed to be doing is LEARNING the profession. How layers work, what to experiment on for the different types of armor, etc.
I also have PLENTY of competition, and all my competitors have 12 points also, I still only have 10. I love the competition actually, other armorsmiths that are better than me like Boooozark, Rnok, and Blum (regular posters on the forums) give me a goal to actually strive for.
I'm probably one of the rare smiths that didn't grind up to Master (it took me 4 months). I started preparing about a month before becoming master gathering resources to make Advanced Composite. I didn't start with a huge bank account either, I made all my money selling Chitin on the bazaar terminals for 2-3k per piece, and I didn't have a huge PA backing me at the time either.
So hold all the sob stories about not finding resources, all of us have dealt with it in here.

I would never 1 star a thread I disagree with, but I will give you my opinion on the matter.

No... I don't, and I didn't expect to be able to make top quality armor the first day.
I have been master armorsmith for about a month now, maybe longer. There is nothing to stockpile because there hasn't been ANYTHING TO STOCKPILE. We had a Corellian wooly hide shift that was good, and I hunted them for 2 hours a day for the entirety of the shift for a 15k stack of wooly that is already half gone. What else am I supposed to do? One guy is paying 115 cpu for that shift... and still he's not getting any offers or sales.
Someone cannot work their way up or even be competitive if they're unable to gather even mediocre resources. Wooly on our server is not only unuberlike, it is horrid quality stuff. Here are the current shift's stats... with the exception of Lokian Wooly (impossible to obtain), it's all OQ+SR < 1100, and this is NORMAL.

A month? Lol. It took me 3 months till I could even make half decent armor! And I started working towards Armorsmith at launch. This is what makes me laugh about everyone who becomes an rmosmith to make money. Sure most old timer armorsmiths are rich but we never started that. It took million of creds to grind our way up and tonnes more creds to become respectable. It's all about stockpiling hide. That is the bane of our craft. I have about 400k Wooly and about 200k Leathery and that still worries me that I don't have enough of it.
You just have to suck it up and pay the scouts and rangers the money it costs to get hide. Maybe now people understand why we charge so much for armor. It is so that we have a large account that we can dip into when the next good hide spawn shows up.
