Well, first off I'm going to tell my story, if you don't want to read it feel free to skim. Reguardless I finally am able to collect all the components to get the schematics for the "Epic Quest Armor" (A customer supplies a scale for me). I spend 2 hours or so gathering up everything to go get the quest done, I figured I'd wait until I had everything I needed to do the quests versus making many trips out there. I have all my ingredients including extras (except for the kimo scale) in case of crit failures. So I get to my first part the segment, I begin inserting materials and realize that I can't assemble the item, oddly enough my gurk king hide isn't showing up as useable. I begin looking through to see what could be wrong, when it hits me, it has no serial number (yes this was looted pre pub 9). Oddly enough my woolmander harrower bones have serial numbers (also looted pre pub 9).

Now, to those of you that keep up with game happenings you'll know there was an exploit that allowed serialless schematics to be made, meaning if a krayt dragon dropped a tissue without a serial number, you could make a 1000 use schematic that allowed you to use ANY tissue and get the bonus of the original tissue, the same for genosian power cubes, etc, any loot item that had no serial number.

It appears that the devs made an attempt to fix this, the way they did it was to not allow items without serial numbers to be used in schematics (not sure about a schematic that has a serial number using a serialless item). THAT is why you see RIS components dropping in sets, THAT is why they have serial numbers, the quickest fix was to make it impossible to use a serialless item in a schematic, or prototype, however that meant they had to add in serial numbers for RIS loots.

I highly doubt that you will see this changed any time soon, I expect that RIS drops will remain serial numbered, and dropping in sets.

You know, it would be amazing how many bugs could be found if some dedicatedgamers were hired (yes hired, actual money paid to them), and not just people that test, people that PLAY the game. You'd be suprised what a team of 10-20 people could do as far as bug testing if given the ability to test parts of the game that a code change impacts.

I've already had 3 people contact me who have enough stuff (including the GDK scales) for 3 full sets of RIS.

I think the price per use on my Interwoven schems just went way up.

So are you saying that all the pieces I have spent 4 months collecting, spending most of mywaking llife in a damp cave on Yavin or burning my feet in the desert, are now useless? The 10 bones, 10 hides, and 5, yes 5, GDK scales without serial numbers.......

My god, what are they going to do next? Turn all my credits into womp rats just because they can?!?!?!

Price went up because others have loot now ? Why, I would assume the price of ris armor would cost no more than a standard suit of composite if I can supply you with the 15 million credit gdk scale, the 500k gurk king hide, the 500k credit woolamander bone, and the peko feather. How much can I expect to pay now ?

so what if there were no serial numbers in per patch 9 ris componet. There were no such thing as a factory run of RIS pieces. Now you can complete a full suit in a day if you are luck enough. if ris were intended to be factory run, then each piece would take more then 1 segements like other armor

No, not all, some of mine ended up getting serial #s others, remained without serial #s

Maybe you didn't understand what I was saying. I was trying to do the quest, however couldn't because the components I picked up had no serial numbers. Yes, there were such things as a factory run of RIS segments. If you assembled enough components you could create a schematic, you'd then (provided you had the loots) be able to make 1000 segments. I don't really see it as being exploited, but if you were smart it would prevent a critical failure, which is painful to say the least on an item like RIS. It was a bit more difficult to do with the Interwoven schematic, as it requries power cubes which drop in sets of 7 max. The point I was TRYING to make is that people who spent money on these components and still have them will now find them worthless, as they can't be used in making a schematic or prototype. I'm sure EVERYONE would at least like to make something with the scale they paid millions for, or killed countless kimos to get. Currently that wouldn't be possible if it had no serial number.

lol the price went up because he still has a finite amount of the interwoven schmatics and the driver for there demand just increased by a factor of 8-10. Its very simple economics and he has to raise the price he charges to use 1/5th of his loot if more people are demanding it without his supply of the schmatics increasing

That schematic isnt necessary though right ? Im not interested in stats, only display armor. I cant imagine anyone using this expensive armor in any other way really. If I can provide someone with 9 peko feathers, 9 gurk king hides, 9 GDK scales, and 9 woolamander fragments, Im still expected to pay millions ? Not trying to be sarcastic, just want to know what to expect.

Nah, I'd probably just ask for one set of components for myself for every piece I made. If someone finds that unacceptable, I'm sure there are people out there more eager to make it than I am.
