Just started acquiring all the materials I need to craft this armor, and noticed it has 3 slots open for layers - what is the best way to layer the armor, in your opinion? 3 max stun layers? 3 Kinetic 4x4's, like we use for comp? Wondering how people are layering this armor to gain the best benefits.

I have had a lot of sucess with 5Kinetics/4Base 15/15/15 HAMS (not a 12 Point smith so I cant make my layers any lighter)
I also have used some really good Dath Leather and Good Yavin Evergreen wood with a junk low end Dant avian Bone and I was getting 29%Base Resistances with 23%kinetic Segments today...
So after making them I was runningsuits of Hunting armor at 55-56Base and 79-80Kinetic (Chest and Legs Are doing that werid thing where they are 1% lower than the bracers) with good hams... around 557/486/332 Total Hams...A bit heavy but Like I said I am not a 12 point smith so its a chanenge to even get HAMs down much lower than those...
Plus the organics I am using all have either low Mal or High Mal withnothingin between...
Only problem was that I keep getting more orders than I can get segments from the factory.... lol
The only draw back I can see is these suits are ARMOR PADDING Stupid heavy reliant... I had a few crit fails today, Thankfuly on bracers only but thats still 4 Armor Paddings lost per crit fail and I had like 4 of them today...

Thanks, I threw inthree 4% base/6% kinetic layers, and came out with a segment that's 26% base, 35% kinetic. Running those off right now, we'll see how the final product turns out.

Most of my problems is that I have a really low quality Dath Evergreen from eclipse right now... 1165 is the total of all 4 important stats... Tat wooly is not much better... Has not been a good spawn of Polymer in a long time... Eclipse resouces have been kind of shotty over the last 2 or 3 months... lol...
So its partly due to the fact that I cant replace my out of stock older stuff... and Partly due to the server not carring to add somethings with good stats in the last few weeks...
But I suspect I can get better in a few weeks or so.. besides thats part of the "FUNSTRATION" of being an Armorsmith... lol

I ran some high base kinetic layers before today so I could be ready as soon as possible. I figured I couldnt go wrong with them. They are 4% base, 4% Kinetic (I think they are actually 4.66 and 4.66).
The segment I got is 32% base 21% Kinetic and 41/40/42 HAM.
The suit is 80% Kinetic 69% Base 492/427/277. Perhaps a bit heavy for Hunting Armor, but not ridiculous.

On Intrepid many of the required resources shall I say..stinko. Lucky bout half I already had with good stats. K with 50% stinko resources my hunter still came out 80% kinetic with 51% bases (base low i am guessing due to organics). I do love the choice of colors in the hunter palette too. My biggest problem was..lost my crates of padded somewhere..no tailors vendors had any..checked 14 different vendors

I'm making two stun-layered variants, with the expectation of Thursdays hotfix when NPC's will once again actually use weapons, and not just default-attack unarmed.
Variant 1: PvP Hunter Armor
Uses 3 stun layers, experimented for Max stun, then Quality for base.
Armor: 37% Stun, 80% Kinetic, 63% base (segments are: 27% base, 19% kinetic, 36% stun)
(note: Tempest is suffering badly for a lack of good crism.. been waiting 7 months for some now
)
Variant 2: PvE Hunter Armor
Uses 3 stun layers, experimented for Max base, then stun for higher resists
Armor: layers still running, but expect 80% kinetic, 68% base, 17% stun
Why use stun in PvE? Because the hotfix this thursday means we will see NPCs using Stun batons, as well as Jawa ion rifles. Plus Geonosians already use stun weapons.
As far as HAM's go, the PvP suits I've sold are not equippable without buffs - I've been experimenting Resistance in the final combine, to max the condition, rather than Durability to lower HAM's (this is a change that happened in publish 9 - so now experimenting Resistance on composite and hunter armor is worth is, altho I only experiment up the condition on composite made with loot enhancers).
The needing of buffs hasn't been an issue for non-wookiee's, and all the customers I've had today were more than happy to trade higher resistances for needing buffs to equip for PvP.
Xlot.

Oh, just to add a frame of reference to my above post, my unlayered, with maxed base, then rest in kinetic segments (18% base, 19% kinetic) comes out at: 72% Kinetic, 54% Base.

hello new player lol
yes the new armor experiments just like composite armor does. I have hand crafted over 40 suits, and i must say its a really nice armor to make. I've had a heavey work load over the last 48 hours crafting this, tell hell, and everything else you can imagine. But its been a blast, great fun !!
