Thread: Is the lot nerf official or just in-talks?

I heard something about a 15 lot per account limit a while back. I was just wondering if that was officially going to happen, or if it was just in concept. Itd help me a lot since i dont play any alts on my account. Looking forward to a response. Thanks

Just a rumor.

Personally I hope they do something about lot trades across galaxies.

Well not quite a rumor, but more a speculation based on a comment TH made not long ago about the jedi revamps and the resultant extra lots that those with an extra FS enabled character will be getting when Publish 10 gets released.


It's like most things in the game; the devs spoon feed us tidbits of info about a change, watch the imaginations of the playerbase go wild, see the resultant flame wars and the responses from a variety of the player base and then either go ahead and implement something or treat it like it never existed.

If they do this, why don't they just come out and tell use you should only have 1 char per account. The myth that you can actually have 8 characters will be gone. Yea I can have 8 chars, but I can't really own anything on 6-7 of them. And if your a crafter, please buy another account.

I think it would be much better for the devs to:


1. Leave lots the way they are 10 per server per account.

2. Change admin rights on harvestors so that only the owner can change the resource being harvested, and only the owner can access the output hopper.


I think a change to 15 lots per account (still only 10 per server) would be breaking promises that were made at the beginning. I am sure there are lots of folks with 2 active characters if not 3 on different servers.


The admin change would be a pain for guilds who share lots within the same server though. So Im not a big fan of it, but I think it is a better solution.

Open plagerism, outright LIES about the ways things work, inability to even remember what was published to the community by himself one month ago, hides behind a swath of secrecy at every turn whenhe is suppose to be our means of feedback.


Yeah, somehow promises, trust and truth from TH and his ilk just hold very little water in my opinion.


Hell for all I know TH could be a bunch of people. But either way their word means squat as shown by history.

the Rumor....note that word....


is that they will change how you use harvesters....


such as only the original owner can put maintenance, power, and make changes to what is extracted.


the problem has been this:

with a force character you get 0 (note zero) lots

with a regular character on the same server you get 10 lots.


if they give jedi lots (with the force slot and a character on the same server) you could get 20 lots.

I acutally think the change is that if you have the two characters on the same server you only get 15 lots between the two of them.

No. They already said 0 additional lots. You unlock and still have 10 lots that you can then share between the two characters which ever way you want.

I like these ideas - they have MERIT. The probem is also, structures are NOT removed from inactive accounts/players. There was rumor that HOUSES are lost if an account is only DELETED buy not ANY OTHER STRUCTURE. So, you can build a pretty big STATIC farm - if you know how.


So, if a player gives you 8 lots either from:

- the same server

- another server

- cross server

-a player with more than one account who can double cross server lot padding - the new owner has these FOREVER.


Eventually, more players, crafter, miners will see this as a BIG EXPLOIT and ABUSE for the benefit of a few and Eventually there will be enough complaints to fix this.

If that admin change occurred, it would be pretty chilling to people in general. It would make it harder in general to use lots from other people even if it's renting or your alts. That's assuming that they would even do it correctly, since lot trading's other fault is expanded storage for people which adds that whole database complaint the devs always toss at us. Imagine if they removed the admin feature? No malls. No one could do anything with a structure except the owner.


The timer thing sounds odd. Do you mean 24 hrs as a character on the server or 24 hrs in a particular time frame? Because in a particular time frame is kind of asking a lot I think of people's time.

#2 is a horrible horrible horrible idea. I have two accounts a combat account and a crafting account. My combat account has all her lots filled with factories and houses leaving my crafting account open for my harvesters. However I'll run both my characters out somewhere, plant my harvs but than use my combat charcter for harvester maintence since often times the harvs will be in dangerous areas and my crafter would die if she ran out there again.


If they want to limit harvester abuses simply put a timer on it. Like you cannot place a harvester until you've spent 24 hours in game if you have survey or spent a week in game if you don't have survey or something silly like that. The fix should hurt the exploiters but let regular players still do what they need to do.


The weapon change nerf has hurt EVERYONE to stop a few people. Those few people are still exploiting since they figgured out a way around it within 24 hours of it going live. So the "fix" to stop some didn't stop them at all and only hurt other people. That cannot happen with harvesters.
