Thread: helpful tip limit your painting factory run size

When making Bestine paintings I would strongly recommend limiting the size of your factory run.

If you don't know how fast they sell, I'd recommend doing maybe 3-4 crates. Then you can split off10-20 of them and offer them up on your vendor.

Otherwise if you run of 20 crates and then put 150 of the paintings on the vendor and leave 10 crates in storage then you may see the paintings sell 2-3 a week and every month you have to relist 100+ paintings and find somewhere to keep the extra 10 crates.

Once you've got a good idea of how fast the paintings sell, then you'll know better how many crates to make. e.g. if you sell about 5 a week then you could do a run of say 4-5 crates, list 15 and then store the other crates.

Another tip is to list the full crates on the vendor at a slight discount off the individual price. If you do this then you won't have to worry about storing the crates.

This idea applies to any crated item in general. Whether you're making ranged powerups or muon gold its better not to do a very big factory run until you have a better idea of how fast they'll sell.

Do you know where I could buy old Bestine painting schematics? I would like to be able to make some others.

Pfft!
Where were you when I did my first run 10 months ago??
I've got Golden Petals 3 stashed in every spare storage space I can find.

Don't get me started... I have about 50-60 Blumbush crates which I'll probably destroy in the end. People don't even want this one for free... (I know this from experience )

The "plant" paintings in general don't sell very well for me.

The Lucky Despot was a goldmine, tho!

heh, I'm able to do about 100 or so, keep them in storage, and pull them out and put them up for sale as needed. Saves me time and money, YMMV.

I've got a cargo pocket named "blue couch" with enough components in it to finish the run of 1000 couches I made.

I keep it in the input hopper of my factory.

As long as the resources are inside a container, the factory won't use them.

Ah, I see you are also in the art smuggling business, or perhaps wall paper business? I have way too many crates of paintings from the first one, Mattberry, that hit Bria. I'm finally out of Mon Cal's 1 and 2 though, mostly because I only had enough hide to do rather small runs of them at the time they came out. I haven't even gotten around to doing the last painting round yet. I suppose I should, sometime, soon. After I find more ore.

I don't know about the rest of you, but suddenly I cannot keep my architect deed vendor stocked, or my furniture vendor. I put up five medium houses and fourteen small(tatooine style) this weekend, to up the stock a bit. I'm not out of large and medium houses (tat style) entirely. Those fourteen I put, I had to put up because I was completely out the last time I checked the vendor. Most of those are gone already too, same with harvesters.

Bandola? Are you coming back any time soon, please? I cannot fathom how you had time to keep up with your shop, or how much ore you went through.

It's funny you mention that.
I still plan to take one of the extra Ronka Plant schematics I bought and make a bunch of things called "Counterfeit Grunda Painting" and charge a fortune for 'em.

::laughs with delight::

That's perfect. When that painting comes to Bria, I forsee giving our smugglers in our guild something to role-play with.

another helpful hint: if you're going to do limited runs like this, you'll have to keep on hand the same materials you used to make the schematic. using recyclers insures that you will always have the same exact materials

Okay, I have a question.

I have not seen schematics for paintings at all, nor any way to reproduce the ones I have seen. I suspect that some of the loot drops of paint kits etc, have something to do with this, but that wouldn't leave me in a position to be able to factory create them.

What am I missing?

As far as I understand it, you could create a draft schem from one of the paintings produced by the paint kit, canvas, etc. That would not leave you with any way to produce them in a factory because of the identical serial number problem and the lack of availability of the paint kit, canvases, etc.

How does this work?

This also keys into another question that I have asked. How does one create more than one item from a single use schematic? I tried on two different ones and I never received the option to create a draft schematic.

Thanks for your help. =)
