The way it works is in Bestine, there is a museum. Its right outside of the Bestine City Hall. Go into the museum, talk to the curator and he will sell you a schematic for the current painting for I believe 50k.

As far as single use schematics making multiple items - you can't. Unfortunatly 1 use means just that 1 use. You can only make 1 item from them. In the very beginning you were able to make a factory run but they changed it pretty quick. We have a about 1000 Tatooine Tapesteries laying around in crates. LOL.

How about donating them to mayors if you have tons of old crates? My mayor said that city halls have no item limits, so we tried to tile the entire main hall in armor segments. Why not have a whole wall of paintings?

When making Bestine paintings I would strongly recommend limiting the size of your factory run.
If you don't know how fast they sell, I'd recommend doing maybe 3-4 crates. Then you can split off 10-20 of them and offer them up on your vendor.
Otherwise if you run of 20 crates and then put 150 of the paintings on the vendor and leave 10 crates in storage then you may see the paintings sell 2-3 a week and every month you have to relist 100+ paintings and find somewhere to keep the extra 10 crates.
Once you've got a good idea of how fast the paintings sell, then you'll know better how many crates to make. e.g. if you sell about 5 a week then you could do a run of say 4-5 crates, list 15 and then store the other crates.
Another tip is to list the full crates on the vendor at a slight discount off the individual price. If you do this then you won't have to worry about storing the crates.
This idea applies to any crated item in general. Whether you're making ranged powerups or muon gold its better not to do a very big factory run until you have a better idea of how fast they'll sell.

I have a bag in my house, well several , with enough ingredients to make 1000 of each schematic.. so instead of 150 crates of paintings , i got 4 items in a bag with 1000 paintings ready to run in the factory.
