Ok so i might be a bit novice when it come's to this but then i'm not a master archtect just yet.

What should one charge for the difirent type's of buildings ?

Give a newbee some guidence here.

My frustration got a little bigger here since the patch couse for the harvester cost and becouse of the greater truble with finding recourses.

Every servers economy is a little different, so it's hard to say really. Most architects seem to be charging 3.0 - 4.0 credits per resource, there are some that are higher as well. There are of course some that are much lower, but I'd never sell below 3.0 since raw resources will sell at that price rather quickly on my server.

www.swgcraft.com has total resources for all schematics and is a great place to go figure your pricing. I've found their schematics to be very accurate as well. Their totals on schematics don't take into account for resources lost making factory parts, but I didn't bother adding for that when figuring prices since I try to always make factory runs of at least 100 on components, so the lost resources are just a few hundredfor each finished product. If I'm unable to make runs of at least 100, then I feel it's poor planning on my part and I shouldn't penalize my customer for my inability to plan properly

A lot of Architects juststarting out are able to mine 100% of the resources they use to fill their orders, so they think that 3.0+ is too high since costs for mining your own materials are less than 1.0. However, if you do build up a good business and end up having to purchase bulk resources at 2.5 to fulfil orders, you'll end up losing money (or making a small profit) if you hadn't planned for this in your original pricing scheme.

Now of course pricing will change some on harvesters once the patch settles and we know for sure what we're going to have available to us. I'm planning to keep my harvester prices the same for baseline harvesters, then scale it up from there depending on quality of the finished product, but we'll have to see how it plays out.

Good luck to you!

You could always try using the rates weapon crafters use (It won't work, but you could try).

That would put small houses at about 33k
Mediums at 200k
Larges at close to 400k
and PA Halls at about 580k

Personal harvesters would be like 15k
and Heavy would be about 300k

As Twilahs said.... everyserver is different.

I'll expand on that by saying that there are several markets within each server. Markets are split by planet to a degree, and also by customer type. Some customers want the lowest price and are willing to spend a long time looking for it, others are alot more concerned about getting what they want right NOW.

Realistically prices 'TEND' to stay in the 3 to 5 cpu range on structures. There is a small group that sell a little under that, but to produce alot at the price they have to have PA backing.

My prices are towards the upper end, as I dont have a bunch of freinds harvesting for me. I set my prices so that my demand roughly matches my ability to supply. I purchase quite alot of material and finished product for my business also.... but I have to be able to make a profit on everything i sell. I dont bother witrh "Loss Leaders" as the advertising isnt as effective in the game as it is in real life.... plus I have never been short of demand (I am located in a GREAT Mall, run by an excellent pair of Merchants.)

So, examples of the prices I routinelly charge...

Small house 14- 18K

Medium House 80 - 100K

Large House Havn't stocked these at this point

PA Hall 300 - 350K

Small Harvesters 18K

Medium harvesters 18K (Mineral) - 60K (Gas, Chem)

Heavy Harvesters 130K (Gas, Chem) - 140K (Mineral) - 145K (Fusion)

Factories 45 - 50K

My advice would be to set a profitable price that will allow you to grow your business.

If you find that the demands is too high for you to support, then nudge your prices up a bit. Keep doing this until you see a slight decline in demand.

If you find you are sitting on inventory too long, or your capacity to supply rises... drop you prices a little until demand catches up again.

Doing this will giveyou your most profitable and maintanable price level. Bear in mind that you need to constants be reassesing the market and adjusting prices accordingly.

Lastly.... don't work TOO hard at this. Its a game, aim to make just enough money to let you enjoy yourself.. and at the same time make sure you dont have to work constantly to do it. You need time to get out there and see the galaxy

Charge as much as people will pay. You can get an idea of that by looking around on whatever server you play on.

One thing to keep in mind though, and this is my opinion, others may disagree...

Never sell anything for less than what you could sell the unworked materials for.

Example: Small house takes 3k or so in resources. Those resources(ore, metal) can not be bought for less than 3 cpu on the bazaar. That means, that 3k in resourses sold, has a value of 9k. If you take that pile of resources, make it into a house, then sell the house for 6k, you just lost a potential profit of 3,000 credits. Besides, you will find resources sell allot easier than houses(half or more of the professions in SWG needs them). Doesn't make sense to add work and time into something to decrease its value huh?

And dont take any of these prices too seriously.

Look aorund on your server, find what people are charging and what people are paying and set your prices acoudingly. Ther is no magic number as to what a resrouce is worth.

Great Idea GrandMufTartkin, problem is all the Punks out there who insist on selling said small house for 6k. Maybe when we can put bounties on there heads for being arses we could fix this, but untill then..... Just so you know though, I do agree with you that one should never sell at a loss, which is basily why I don't even bother with small houses any more.

LOL there you go again....

I NEVER sell at a loss, I just sell for less than you do.

To sell at a loss I would have to charge less than 1 cr per unit. ( not likely to happen )

Should we say things about the "punks" that sell a small house for more than 10k?

How is even 10k not a loss... Go to any vendor and the bazaar and look at the price for resouces... 3 - 5 cpu if not more. A Small house takes 3388 units of verious resouces to make. Now use the going market price as a multiplier. Do the math, any thing under 10k is a loss

"Large house 80k"

Madness.....I ask for 120k then drop to 100-110k for frequent customers, generosity, etc.
