Thread: Grinding Architect: Quick AND Economical?

I knnow that Gungan Heads are quickest way to grind Architect, which is fine and dandy of you have 2.7mil to buy the 9000K resources it takes... If you start with a mil or so, buy some heavy mineral harvesters for resources you will need - doesn't really leave you much in the bank to just crunch on gungan heads in practise mode....

So what is next best thing to grind on - not just XP wide - but what has a market value? I can only guess since I havent really followed market for them, but houses are not selling like hot cakes any more? I guess I could make walls - sell to other architects, but XP is not that good - and 6K is all you get in credits? What does sell - med hars? heavy harvs? Do they sell if they are not BER10 / BER13? Can I sell tents? How much do you charge for a tent? Can I sell Gungan Heads? I put 3 of them on bazaar last night for 3K each - I know people have them on vendors at 9-10K but do they sell any? Spamming busy city with "Architect for hire" - does that work?

Last but not least, what is the current latest status on Factory XP - thinking of running one Structure Factory to make wall segments - I see contrdicting post I guess because it got changed / nerfed - but you still get SOME (not all) of XP by standing next to your factory - so I can grind next to my factory and get double whamy XP?

Give me some suggestions guys, thanks!

P.S. Am on Bloodfin, if anyone has use for me / deal in mind...

You might be able to make a buck off of crafting stations. But if you grind them without experimenting then the rating will probably be negative which is not good. Still you might be able to sell them for 2-3 cpu on the bazaar though and recoup your costs. Depends on your servers market for them. Also the price for metals is usually a little lower than ore cause of higher densities. Look for good conductivity.

Merchant tents don't sell to well cause they require a level 4 merchant skill so demand is low.

Houses don't usually have a great market and prices tend to be low.

Statues often have way too much supply because of the grinders.

Fast and cheap might be too much to ask like wanting a new BMW for $10k

You can have new BMW for 10K - its just that it is going to be a little bit "hot"?

Everything is doable ....

Since I have Const I only I have to make things that dont require much engineering skill - much experimentation? I know I need that for say harvesters or crafting stations - how bout factories? They are all the same, right?

Thanks! Thats exactly what I was looking for - ideas and some tips. Also what are fair prices to try selling things - I think Ill try factories and walls...

When I buy components from novice architects, I pay:

5 to 7k for each wall module

3 to 3.5k for a generator turbine

6 to 7k for a manufacturing mech

Then I sell completed factories for 48-50k. It will depend on your server, but you can run to coronet sometimes and feel out the market. But certainly not less than 40k.

The fastest (and most wasteful) way to get Master Architect is the statues - as you said.

The *next fastest* (and realistically the most profitable) is making walls and selling them to Masters for 5-10K each.

A completed wall gives you about the same XP as a single statue and requires the same amount of resources. It is "slower" in that it requires you to make 10 structural modules and then the wall itself, so in a way you have 11X the "clicking" than if you were making statues.

But pragmatically you can't really sell the statues for much at all, if anything, and you almost certainly aren't going to sell the 2xx of them for anywhere near 2-3 cpu. Whereas it's not unreasonable to expect that you will be able to sell all 2xx walls for 2-3 cpu. If you are buying resources, that might be a slight net loss. If you are mining your ore and metal, then you can actually end up with money in your pocket after the grind.

Right now crafting stations use artisan experimentation rather than architect experimentation. So if you have engineering 4 and domestic arts 4 you can make good ones.

Factories might sell ok but don't expect much profit. Should cover costs at least though, I'd think. But it certainly isn't quick compared to grinding statues. You have to make several sub components using various materials and grind out 3 walls per.

Thanks! How much to sell Tents and Factories (Structure and others) for?

Euro... here's what I would recommend:

Find a Master Architect to take you on as an apprentice.

Structural Modules give about 500 xp each, and Wall modules give about 600 xp each (I think). So by the time you create a single wall, you should have about 5500-6000 exp. That's not bad. I never refuse to buy walls if someone offers them to me. I pay 7k each for them. I never have enough.

Generator turbines give a very nice amount of exp also, if you have a decent supply of all the required resources for them.

Factories are very quick and easy to make, so long as you can make a ton of generator turbines.

So I would just build on those 3 things. Make a bunch of Wall Modules. Make a bunch of Generator Turbines. Then either sell what you have, or make them into some Factories. Factories sell easily between 40 and 50k. That's a very nice profit actually, once you get into selling two or three a day.

Hope this helps.

Come think of it why wouldnt I just make factories and sell them for 40k myself? I have two wendors... Do factories have stats you need to experiment? Efficiency etc, does it matter? Would making structure modules in factory than walls to sell do me any good? DO I get ANY xp - by standing by the factory? Didn't seem so last night...
