Do you have to locate some kind of ressource for it? or do you just put it anywhere and it get the same amount of power anyway?

Curious since i didnt see any survey tool for fusion

Radioactives.

It's a dedicated mineral harvester that can only mine radioactives. The advantage is it mines them at a very high rate
(something like 13 I think).

radioactives are not power, the fusion power generator converts the radioactives it mines to useable power. It is not as efficient as 2 solars, but combine 1 lot space with lower maintenance than 2 solars, with the more readily available radioactive ore, and you have a better power source. Still, you have to move it weekly as resources shift if you want to be at a reasonable efficiency.

Offhand, I think it's 12kg/h. The advantage is also that it does not take power (of course) and that it only costs 1440/day to run.

Actually to be honest, I don't think fusions do any type of conversion, they are just specifically for mining radioactives.

Try sampling radioactives and depositing it as power. It should work. Did for me at least.

Yes, you can sample straight radioactives or get them from a hravester and use them as power. I hand sampled when I started out and only had one wind generator. Fusion generators do it faster and cheaper.

I had 4 solar power generators and now I have 2 fusion generators at a 79% spot (they take about 30.000 power per day and the rate is 13). I think they are much better because radioactive minerals are easily to find than the solar/wind power.

Wrong. You can harvest radioactives with any mineral harvester and use them for power. It doesn't make much sense to do that because you burn power to harvest power, but the point is that a Fusion Generator does nothing but extract radioactives in a super efficient manner.

Has anyone seen a situation where radioactive ore just disappears on a planet? Like what happens with other metals? That would annoy me to suddenly have to switch back to umpteen wind generators for two weeks.

That happened on Corellia in Eclipse server for three days or so. Assuming you can get a good deal on energy with 2 cr a unit, then your looking at a high expense to pay for harvesters. Unless you have alot of other alternate generators of course.

1. Yes, radioactive material IS power. You can sample it by hand, in a harvester, or in a Fusion-Ion Generator, and it can still be used as power in any of your harvesters. Harvesters can be powered with Wind Energy, Solar Energy, or any Radioactive Material. I've not found any other working energy sources.

2. Fusion-Ion Generators can be set to harvest any radioactive material you have on the planet. They have a harvest rate of 13, and a maintenance rate of 30 (1,440 credits a day).

3. Yes, a planet can be completely barren of radioactive material, so be sure to stockpile power, or have some backup solar handy.

4. "Fusion-Ion Generator" is the name the structure is given when placed. Even tho the deed says "Fusion Generator". Feel free to use either of them, we should be able to understand.

Hope this clears up a few things.

There has never been any Radioactive resource on Rori. (Starsider) Heck, the BEST Solar resource on the planet is at 65%. and im built on a 51%. (not so far out) So... milk your fusion power while you can.
