Yes, you can use Radiactive minerals to power harvesters. I do it all the time. And you can mine at a fast enough rate to power that harvester and 2 more if you find a good spot.

Has anyone seen a situation where radioactive ore just disappears on a planet? Like what happens with other metals? That would annoy me to suddenly have to switch back to umpteen wind generators for two weeks.

Chilastra had a radioactives shift last night. Now I get to place my harvesters MUCH closer to my shop. Whee!!!

To the person above who said 2 solars was better then 1 fusion ... WRONG !

2 Solars on a good day lets call it a 60% spot, thats 9.6kg/min (16 * .6)

1 Fusion on a 90% radioactive spot (not at all hard to find) = 11.7kg/min, substionally more power, less lots, and half the cost.

Fusion-ion generators have almost nothing but advantages. They have the same maintenance rate and reclaim price as wind and solar generators. Radioactives are ridiculously easy to find above 80% concentration, meaning you are nearly guaranteed that a single generator will pull in 10 KG/H at a MINIMUM. And they are the same size (take up the same ground space) as a medium mineral harvester.

The only disadvantage to fusion-ion generators actually turns out to be an advantage. They are the scond most difficult structure to make, second only to the Guild hall, which turns out to be somewhat advantageous, because it means there are relatively few of them in existence. It is easy to find a good place for a fusion-ion generator on a resource spot, because the field isn't cluttered a hundred of them (unlike wind and solar), and because really high concentrations of radioactive ore are very common (unlike wind and solar).

The only drawback to a fusion generator is the initial cost of making them (expensive even compared to a large harvester or house) but this can be easily overcome by saving up resources making several at once so you arent wasting resources on multiple schematics.

After that it is gravy. 1 fusion gen on a 90% radioactive spot (easy to find) will net you 15k power a day for roughly 2100 credits.

As to the rollovers, Talus on Bloodfin lost all radioactives last week but there are usually plenty on other planets. The 500 credits per day isnt that much ofacost to have to bear to have to fly to Correlia each day where I found another 90% radioactive spot just outside of Coronet. That one dried up and now radioactives are back on Talus and I found a sweet spot right next to our PA hall (you can literally see the PA hall from the site)

I've had to run to other planets before to find missing materials when rollovers caused dry spells on certain planets, just remember to pay your harvesters up for a couple of days at a time so you dont have to run back and forth all the time.

I also posted this in trade forum, but is anyone on Radiant server selling or stocking these? I can't seem to find them anywhere. Vendors are always sold out. Please mail or tell Idir in-game if you have any for sell. Thanks.

I'm not on your server so I can't help you. Like 95% of the people here. You might put your server name in the subject so we don't waste our time.

And you might want to wait more than 15 minutes before bumping.

If you'd quit responding then I wouldn't have to keep reading it. As it is now you owe me another apology cause you made me read it AGAIN!
