Thread: Crafting XP
It works alright, but it comes in such small quantities that you don't really notice it. I only noticed because I was grinding an item that gave me xp divisible by 10 and my skill points kept creeping up by 1s and 2s as well. But yeah, it works

This explains why, when I was doing the math for Novice Arch, to see how many crarfting tools I'd be looking at making to get there, and how much metal and mineral I should try and sample tonight, the numbers kept changing by a point. *pffts!*

Heck, for that matter, you never know when you get ANY Crafting XP . . . I'd like to see that changed . . .
General Crafting
GCXP = 50%
Usage XP (consumables)
UXP=50%
So you get 50% initally for crafting the item (say 50 GCXP). If someone else uses your item (CDEF Pistol for instance) you get a percentage back every time they use it up to 50% (50 Usage XP, which goes toward your GCXP). After this point there is no passup on XP. (note: xp numbers used in this example are fiction and used for education purposes only).
Usage XP only works if someone else uses your item. This does not work if you use the item.
The percentages differ depending on the item crafted. (ie structures give a 150% one time bonus)
What is the fastest way to earn crafting xp?
i mean trying to earn 33000 cxp is hard as hell
it took me from release day to now to make engineering 4
so if anyone knows what earns the most cxp, please post thanx
Seems to be tied to the actual number of resources used - I'm getting a consistent 4 xp per resource, no matter what the difficulty. Therefore, an easier item with more resources makes more sense than a complicated item with fewer resources. I'd say go for making harvesters and generators, since at 240-260 resources they give around 1000 xp each, but unfortunately it's not general crafting xp but structural xp. Some of the bone armor components get up there, but then again you have to have a pile of hides and bone...
