I've played around on TC5 to get a feel of what the Combat upgrade is going to be like and I have this feeling that there is going to be a mad rush for new weapons and armor. Taking a quickreview of my server, I don't see enough Weaponsmiths or Armorsmiths available to meet the demand.
As such, I think architects should be prepared for a run on harvestors (which ones?)about 2 or 3 days after the CURB publish. What do you think?

That would be nice. I could use the boost in sales due to that bloody new search.

Looks like I am ramping up production... nothing like a few million credits to make me feel like a part of CURB. Not that I will be able to buy much... Maybe buy resources to produce stuff for all the people who will enjoy RotW.

Around time of JTL's release I saw my monthly sales almost double and I was rather lazy that month about restocking, or I'd have made a killing.
Another thing about harvester sales I've noticed, they haven't deminshed much. And the amount mine have gone down could easily be attributed to people leaving game or people just playing less. The continued sales I think are because there is a constant influx of new crafters and it takes crafters awhile to accumilate the funds to afford the massive fleet assortment of harvesters one would want as a big crafter.
So with a rush on new/more resources for new/more weapons and armor, plus huge influx of more new AS and WS, which have already started I think... I would certainly think harvester sales will start to jump. Soon as players find out what resources are needed to make the new items, they'll be out mining it. Same w/ the resource dealers.
At any rate, thanks for bringing this possibility to light so I can further ramp up my production to fully take advantage of this boom to our business since I didn't really get into the JTL boom. =)

One can only hope... LOL
This new galaxy wide vendor search is killing me. But, while I see everyone and their dog, making houses, factories, furniture, and harvesters dirt cheap.
I just fall back on my artisan items. Nothing else I can do.
On a brighter note, I got new neighbors! Both Architects and both selling ridiculously low. I thought about taking advice offered before, and just go buy them out, but I figure at those prices, surely they wont be able to afford to keep up a business for long. And if I buy them out, I would just be encouraging them to stay in their current location.
Swoops for 12k? I about poo-doo'd me panties. LMAO!
I know this is off topic, so forgive me... had to vent a bit. This GWVS is giving me nightmares.

It's giving me bankruptcy. Another wonderful day, doing about 10k in business. I'm making some heavy harvesters and putting them up for sale; I'd planned to avoid that until I had enough placed for my own use, but no joy, I've got to sell something soon, so my reserve stock went on the vendor.

Well I kinda feel your pain atm, my sales are way down, my vendor is is a pretty high traffic mall and sales have dropped to painful levels, in the past my sales have been running about 5000k-15000k(I am a small time operater)a day, but now I am lucky to do 1000k. it is hitting me hard, and I have had to revert to selling off some of my horded stocks to keep the Harvies running, which until things get better I use a portion of that and sell it off in the Bazzar to keep me running in the black, I am thinking that I might just scale back my Harvies to just a few and queitly horde, I do have Master Artisan so I can use that to make ends meet. I do not know how long this will go on, but it will get better I am sure of that. Hang in there

Did you mean 5000-15000 rather than 5000k-15000k?
I don't think anyone considers 5M-15M per day to be "small time".

I have now replaced all the time I used to spend crafting with putting all the "Auction Unsuccessful" items back on my vendor.
I refuse to lower my prices...
I am not over-priced at all, and someday soon all the toons out there selling Medium houses for 30k will be flat broke

I got a new neighbor while back, was an arch w/ a vendor and I paniced. Fortunately he never stocked his vendor so I never got competition in any way. If you were to buy your neighbors out, they wouldn't have any stock and they certainly wouldn't gain any customers, plus you'd get all the extra profits. And any customers they once had would just take one look at your vendor and just stick w/ you long as yours was stocked.
I like the vendor search. 20% of ALL deeds on corellia were mine, and I only sold harvesters. If you've got a really nice stock it's hard for anyone doing a search to not notice your vendor so it's just free advertisment!! Long as your prices are competitive to vendors of similar size and longevity, I don't see how you won't be able to compete in the long run and use the vendor search to your advantage easily.
Restocking unsuccessful auctions has always been a huge pain for any vendor. I try keeping 300-1000 stocked but that's because of those sudden great resources that spawn and suddenly I'll sell 200 heavy chems in 30mins. But that doesn't happen every month and so I have to keep reselling them. Came up w/ a solution tho that I've seen many use before. Just offer bags of 10 or 50. Bulk customers will buy up the 10's especially if you discount them even just 10%, and the bags of 50 are more for your sanity. If your singles or bags of 10 run low, can break open the bags of 50 or the 10's to suppliment. I find myself a lot happier w/ this. =)

I'd like to note that most arch's will agree that we all get along wonderfully and love helping out in anyway we can. But if someone goes and moves in next to you, that's a fairly aggressive move on their part. They really don't have much respect for you and you shouldn't feel bad about exploiting their pricing if it'll help you. I'd think they weren't a big dealer, cause big dealers usually have been around awhile and are the nice people. If you have an aggressive, disrespecting big dealer that's trying to muscle you out, well it's kinda tough luck. Best you can do is fight dirty and hope you win. =)
No one should be forced out. Bowing out respectly is always the best way to go.
