Thread: Prices going up?

If people are leaving the archetect housing supply businessfaster than customers are no longer needing houses, that would make prices rise.

I have not seen this, but each server is its own economy so it could be true for yours.

That's why we need some sort of decay to be introduced. Our profession prices are finally righting themselves. I won't get back in until, if they ever do, they hit 10 cpu.

Decay is not the answer; it will create more problems and screw the profession further. The fix that needs to be put in is experimentation. Let experimentation and durability dictate the amount for items that can stored in a structure and how much maintenance you should pay. That simple

Before I used to get laughed at and even told the usual so and so has them for 1/2 that. Now it seems that when I do get a tell, its more like "thats kinda high" a few seconds later "ok I will take it"

I have noticed a little less architects advertising their title, maybe this has something to do with it, heh even I have taken up armorsmith in the hope of being able to sell at a decent price, but I still am mainly an architect.

It could actually be that many have hit master and found it not worth it to keep going at the low prices. Many might have just been leveling up to build their PA hall and then start something else.

Heh, I agree, I hit master, and I really don't build anything much other than for my buddies, I have maxed out my construction xp so i don't have to worry about whatever starting limit the Urban planner has and I know I can sell my resources for 5 cr per easily so when people ask me my price I tell them, and they freak hehe, but they have been freaking less so now I am actually starting to sell big ticket items to strangers which is interesting in itself.

Just wondering if fellow architects have noticed this or not or if this is just a localized fluke.

I think they are. I'm getting alot more "yes" answers to my high prices.

Last night, I ran into an entertainer that told me he was looking for an Architect to build him a small home for a long time. He was glad he finally found one standing next to him (me). He was asking for a Small Correllian.

I popped off my normal snotty high price (smalls 15k, meds 75k, larges 150k). He said he'd take it.....and to say I was shocked was an understatement. 15k for a small house, is there hope yet?

Granted, it was one instance, and may have been a fluke. Darn near tempted me to post here about it, though. There isn't too many topics about people not gaffawing at our quotes.

I think it might just be more money in the system, some friends of mine make 20k or so an hour doing their normal combat missions and goofing off, I'm sure they could do better if it was buckle down and make serious cash.

So even at a decent price of 15k for a small house, they spend less than a full hour to acheive that.

I sell large homes at 200k, mainly because the person has been looking for whatever style it was they really wanted and nobody has them anymore or simply theyhave 4 million and wasting a few hours finding a price lower isn't worth the effort when they could make another 50k in same time.

well, an advanced core takes 3 segments, and they now take four layers

now this info

Mabari Chestplate
290 hide, 150 metal, 7 identical Recon Armour Cores, 1 synth cloth, 1 reinforced fiber panel
(options) 1 Biological-Mechanical Cartridge, 1 Feathered Appearence Enhancement, 1 Armour Appearence Enhancement

so 7 cores x 21segs for just a chestplate

that is 44 layers just to make this one chestplate, I can see mabari being a little higher since there are not the arm pieces, but still

with 1000 layers per run, we won't be making a lot of peices like we used to (runs of 20-30 instead of 45 or so)

It depends on the quality requirements of the parts. Lots of high quality organics mean high prices.

From what I see, it might be a trade off between more high quality metals for layers and cores but less required high quality hide.

But I would need to test it out myself, and I have no motivation to grind out AS on a test server atm

I am wondering what the condition of such armor will be. All the extra materials would drive up costs, but if the armor lasts longer, it may not be all that distasteful to our customers.

Well all I can say is i just hope it does last longer. I dont mind it taking more materials to make armor. Long as there's some one else willing to pay the price. Since I'm going to have to pay the price on my end too. What I'm wondering though is what about the higher end armors. I'm currious to know if there are requirements for 'identical' cores etc at the upper levels. Or if it's just 'cores'. If it's identical that's really going to limit runs for sure (Pretty much like imperial PSGs are limited)

However if it's just 'cores' etc. With no requirements for anything to be dead on identical same factory run anymore. That would actually be handy. Lest wasted materials overall since if you have a few odds and ends left over you'll be able to whip em togeather into a full suit. Might not be as good. But some one would buy it.
