it was brought up that we as a profession dont get as much repeat busness becuase our stuff does not decay well what if instead of making houses decay or something, have a percentage of the house/harvester/whatever's maint fee goto the person who built it! just an idea heh (sorry for spelling and such been up for past 24 hours building houses heh)

Well, the first road block to a feature like this I believe would be addressing the issue of a house being made within a factory owned by someone else other than the crafting architect. If it weren't, we would have a lot of "factory owning guild members" with very large bank accounts.

personaly i think it should go by the schematic owner anyways not the factory owner

I agree, but I think to institute your idea they would need to base the workings of it off of the deed's Item Creator tag. So that would need to be fixed first. Good idea though.

Hi
I'm not an Architect myself yet, but my alt, Necon will be!
Personally I like this idea, because this gives every architect the chance to make SOME money, even if their sales isnt that high

I'm eerie about helping structure decay since that isn't particular useful with the decay patch they put in. Perhaps we can convince them to make harvesters a limited time deed. So say a harvester can only be used for a period of 3 months. Sorta like how candles decay except the deed would be non-functional at the end.

yea but unlike a candle a harvester can be pretty expensive i personaly dont like the idea of decay (except when an account is deleted or something!) i just think by making some the cash they spend on maint being sent to the maker instead of just being deleted whould be a good use for it! lol then agian the devs prolly wont get around to doing it even if they agree. (on a side not its pissing me off that when i look at this board that our proffesion has had so many bugs and it takes so long for them to get fixed afaik we all pay the $15.00 a month same as the combats so why the hell dont we get attention? hell do i have run naked through sony headquaters with a sign says "SWG Arcitects need dev support"? lol)

I've said it before, I'll say it again. It just won't work.

Forget all the fancy arguments, those who are rich will just get richer, those who are poor will stay that way.

The guy with cash in the bank makes houses/harvs etc at throw away prices...hell. I could have been paying people to take them!..many other rich guys could. Then sit back and let the maintenance roll in. How did that help Architects?

Sorry, but it WILL happen this way.

/give a damn? No...

Well with my idea, there won't be a continuing cost to the player just a cyclical one.
