How about changing the game mechanics in a way thatstructure repair kits are requiredfor keeping harvesters and factories (not houses) in shapeinstead of having pplto paya maintenance fee?

the only thing I dont like about the idea is that, up front, the prices for houses would drop immensely. You'd make your money on the back end but you'd be playing for months before you get a really good income. Then what you would have is everyone grinding architect. Selling (or giving away) their homes. Then dropping architect and taking another profession and just waiting for the checks to roll in every month. They nerfed solo groups and this would be a work around for architects only.

Ill admit I like the idea of getting that check. But realistically, it would wash.

yea but unlike a candle a harvester can be pretty expensive i personaly dont like the idea of decay (except when an account is deleted or something!) i just think by making some the cash they spend on maint being sent to the maker instead of just being deleted whould be a good use for it! lol then agian the devs prolly wont get around to doing it even if they agree. (on a side not its pissing me off that when i look at this board that our proffesion has had so many bugs and it takes so long for them to get fixed afaik we all pay the $15.00 a month same as the combats so why the hell dont we get attention? hell do i have run naked through sony headquaters with a sign says "SWG Arcitects need dev support"? lol)

Yea but the candle isn't making you butt loads of cash. You drop a 100k mineral harvestor on a decent % spot of a decent material and you'll make that money back in a few weeks. Over 3 months you'd make enough to buy several new harvestors.

Thats not to say the whole harvestor should be replaced, but maybe redeeded and a service module applied to it, or brought back to an arch and have the mining module replaced in it, or sometihng.

Now service module. That would be a great idea. Let me make some up. Put em on the vendor and create a little cash flow to see me through the hard times.

Yeah, service modules. Or maybe power-ups,much the same outcome except with a more positive spin for the customer.

problem is. our profession will not be fixed with just a 1 or 2 hot fixes. IMO it will have to some kind of overhaul.

A suggest I had awhile back was an item tht an architect could craft, this item would be loaded into a structure to replace maintence. These items would all in all be ablit cheaper for but the crafter and the buyer then the normal maintence and thus give the architect repeat sales.

Devs wouldn't go for this as housing maintenance is one of thecredit sinks they use to make money leave the game.
