Thread: Dupers sell for cheap
Actually if you were to sell at 2 credits a unit you would be breaking even or making a slight profit. Some architechts lower their prices if their business drops off.
I personally don't sell lower then 3 credits because its not worth my time but not everyone feels the same. Many architechts starting out dont mind breaking even because they get good xp.
Don't assume just because someone sells cheap they are duping.
They arent nessacarily dupers just cause they have low prices. They could have some friends with a lot of harvesters placed, and simply sell at what they want. So what they are selling a PA hall for 75k, fine with me. Im sure as hell not gonna make one for less then 300k. If they wanna hump the factory for all that, let em. I still sell just fine.

Breaking even? I extract resrouces for 1/2 a cr each.... ( chuckle )
As I am having fun playing I guess I dont count my time.
As far as my calcluator goes, there is nothing wrong with it.
I calcualte the cost of power using the generation rate against the pay mantenance rate.
I calculate the resource cost by the pay mantenance rate and the above power consumption rate per unit.
I know what resruces cost for me, yours may vary.
It is not uncommon for Novices to drop their prices as times get tough. I know quite a few (inluding myself) overextend themselves as they try to grow their harvester base both in QTY and size. I remember building my first large house. I had no idea what to sell it for, but I knew I had to sell it quick becuase I only had 2 days worth of harvester money for my medium and personal harvesters. I would never make the assumption that just because someone is choosing to sell finished product at 2cr per resrouce that they are duping. There are many other reasons for it.
It is also not uncommon for very good businessmen to sell for less as the standard( but still high profit margins ) in order to establish market share in a declining customer market.
be afraid ( chuckle )
