Thread: Urban Planner may not require Master Architect
I'm in the same boat, master in all 3... they seem to work well together. Dropping Master Artisan frankly isn't an option of a semi-selfsufficient architect, so that just leaves merchant. Time to start grinding my alt I guess.
The bummer thing is I am a Master Architect.. Master Artisan... Almost Master Merchant...
To do Urban Planner I will prolly have to give up all of Merchant

Is Urban Planner going to be 63 skill points? They haven't said. It could be less. Right now, basic professions are 77 skill points, elites/hybrids are 63 skill points, so maybe an elite elite would cost less. If not, you'd still have 47 points to dump into Merchant so you could have Hiring IV, Management IV, and Advertising III... That's all you could really need except for bonuses granted in master merchant (do you even get anything besides more reduced costs?).
Oh no, the entire point is to diversify people more. There is already too many Architect \ Merchant \ Artisans at master, they will want you to give up stuff to take Urban planer to diversify the market more.
They want them buying stuff from Master Artisans, that helps the economy, just a little bit, but every little bit helps.
well i just saw a pig fly by my window.....
I agree with you Dayln ![]()
A big problem in the game (especially with architects) is that there are way too many people in the crafting fields who have become masters. I hope that the skill points system for "elite-elites" will not be less than what it takes to master a proffesion now.
btw, im not sure if SOE intended this or not, but only allowing one char per account on each server stops everyone from having alts....a crafter and a fighter.....which helps the economy
Actually that would hurt the economy more, combat classes can get lots of money VERY fast, the crafter wouldnt need to even sell a thing and could still support gobs of harvestors.
it's going to require master architect unless they change it which I hope they dont.
I know it will suck for me to drop other skills to be able to master it, but overall im glad otherwise to many would be a master urban planner..... I want to be able to walk down the street with "Master Urban Planner" over my head with pride and people going ooooo theres a master urban planner.
jigrah read the post and youll see that is what i said
by not allowing multiple chars per server SOE has helped the economy because people cant have a fighter supporting their crafting alt
A lot of people assume that Urban Planner, as an 'Elite Elite' profession, would require Master Architect. I think this is unlikely. Most of the Elite professions require only a single column from the base class; Pistoleer requires only the 'Pistol' column from Marksman.
I think it is likely that this will carry through into Urban Planner, and that UP will require only 1-2 columns from Architect (Installations and/or Buildings I would guess).
We aren't assuming. On the in development page about player cities it says, "This is an 'elite-elite' profession only available to those few who have mastered the Architect profession. "
So yes it is going to require master architect.
