Steel, Aluminum, Ore.

Any specifics ones? I keep reading quality is of no importance unless you are making crafting stations.

Carbonate Ore

Aluminum

Copper

Steel

Any Chemical

Reactive Gas

Inert Gas

You only need Carbonate Ore for generator turbines, but I get it whenever I can. Still, if it comes down to a 50% spot of carbonate and a 60% spot of non-carbonate, go with the 60%.

Unit Toughness is the only important quality for 95% of arch stuff.

Generally, I get by with lots of copper, steel, aluminum, and tons and tons of ore. Other stuff like chemical, reactive gas, inert gas, etc, you generally don't need in high enough quantities to bother mining it yourself, you're better off finding a resource supplier and buying them.

None of the qualities matter at all in my experience, so I don't care one bit if the UT or OQ or whatever is 4 or 994. Whatever is available and cheap.

Actually, as a clarification on my last post, I don't mine my own copper or steel or aluminum either - I found a bulk supplier who sells for 2cpu in large quantities. So all my lots are dedicated to ore, which I think is the best thing for a non-guild supported architect to do, since you're going to be using 2-3 times more ore than anything else.

For your basic leveling?

Ore - of any kind,a walltakes 2200 ore

Metal - of any kind, a wall takes 800 metal

All other stuff is a pittance compared to those two. You could only mine those two thing and buy everything else and do very well.

However most archetects ( I know ) rotate a machine or two in order to pick up the other stuff they need.

I should add as a novice you could make nothing but walls and sell them and do pretty well. 8-10k each

Ore

metal (alum and copper can be used in all metal slots. Iron only in most of it.)

Ore

some Reactive gas (mostly for generator turbines (200 each))

Ore

some inert gas

Ore

some chemical (10k of chemical will last a long time)

Ore

If you are mining, get Carbonate Ore. Carbonate Ore is used in certain pieces so Silicilastic ore won't work. YOu could put some of the Carb aside for those times and use mainly Sil or Carb but you will need SOME carbonate ore. Once you get a small stash of carbonate, it really doesn't matter after that. If I have a choice, I usaually go for carbonate so I can keep mainly just one type but, I take what I can get and always have some carb to the side.

Also, some steel is used. Small and regular storage modules use steel.

You can usually be pretty safe with non-ferrous metals (copper/alum) as they usually fit anywhere it says metal.

Scortch what is with you and iron? lol

No architect schematics call for iron. None. I've never harvested the stuff or bought any. You could use it since many things call for "metal" but why stock a resource you don't need specifically unless you can get it super cheap?

if you wanna grind to the top quickly, go for just any sort of ore and any sort of metal,.. make walls find a master to buy them from you for a decent price.. no hassle with finding customers or being forced to sell for really low prices because you are desperate to pay the bills..

if you are going to be more selling your way all the way through, you need lots of any non ferrous metal (alum is a good one to have lots of since that is basicaly the most non ferrous metal you will need)... a bit of copper, a bit of carb ore, a bit of reactive gas, a tiny bit of inert gas (not enuf to have to stock up on.. i just buy it off the bazar), a bit of chemical, and a bit of steel... and a LOT of any sort of ore.

I would highly suggest stocking up on flora, water, meats, and hides and rethinking your choice of Architect and becomming a chef

In all seriousness, ORE, ORE and ORE ... most everything we build requires tons of ore. If you wanna move through architect quick you need lots of ore. You can in fact move through architects boxes with rapidity just building walls for Master Architects who need them and make a few creds along the way. Double interesting is you develope relationships with Masters who can train you as well and so you never pay for skill training You'll need a little metal as well but largely ore.
