I'm wondering that myself. I'm holding off selling any at the moment while my factory churns out a decent supply and variety of lighting.

Iwould like toprice them in a way that would allow me to sell high, avg., and lowquality lighting (not that I plan on selling many low quality ones). Obviously, pricing the best quality at the highest price and the lowest quality at the lowest price. It would be foolish to price your High quality lighting so low, you wouldn't be able to sell any lighting that isn't using the best quality resources.

For what it's worth, my regular price for Torches and Free-Standing Lamps prior to this release was 1800 and 1500. I sold those steadily and regularly at those prices on the Sunrunner server.

I charge 2.0 for the free-standing lamps and 1.5 for the rest. I also offer them in packs of 5 with a 500 discount.

How are yours coming out with experimenting?

I'm getting about 15-16 days on candles.

30-33 days on the lamps.

Glad it's not just me then - similar lifespans as above (but I kept wondering if the candles should last longer)

According to TH:

"Players will now have many craftable light sources in the game that will have the true functionality of a light source. Additionally, many new lamp styles have been added to the game and now players can also have candles. Players will be able to purchase architect crafted candles and lamps that act as a light source. The decay rate of the candles and lamps depends on crafting quality. Candles will have a lifespan between 7 and 21 days, lamps between 21 and 42 days"

I've gotten to 40 days on the free-standing lamps using steel with good stats. Experimented to 91%

My candles were coming out to 14 days, but the organic resources I was using had junk stats.

I am currently charging around 1000 for a candle and the desk lamps, 2500 for the free standing lamps and something inbetween for the table top lamps. I might consider adjusting my prices in the future when they finalize the implementation of decay on the lights.A thousand or two thousand credits is pocket change for most people.

MAN! How can you charge 1k for a candle that will only last 2 weeks! I experimented mine to 18 days before making factory runs and I feel bad charging 300 per candle, case of 10 for 3k. Thats a little over 6 CPU which is more profit than I make off speeders! If they didn't decay I could charge 1k, but no one is gonna pay that for a candle that will go out in 2 weeks. Have not thought about lamps yet, since I only have 2 factories to churn out candles, but I'm guessing 1k for standing lamps and 850 for the others.

Sal....you're trying to agrue with gougers that charged 1500 for a frickin torch....something I have long sold for 600 creds and made plenty of profit...

39 days is best lamp my current resources yield.

I won't start mass producing/selling these things until decay is halted until they are placed. Making a boatload of any of these, only to have them decay on the vendor is absolute BS, something NO OTHER PROFESSION HAS TO DEAL WITH, and I just won't waste my time/resources/creds on it.

So, until that time....my houses will have lovely lighting that I won't be selling.

k...1k is pennies. how poor is this universe? i got out of the furn biz cuz it was simply a waste of time. why make furn...when u can make harvs...and sell way more...and get way more money. maybe you guys arent in it for the money...but i dont think the furniture crafting was what drew you to the profession in the first place. whatever...its your game.
