Thread: @system_msg:manf_error_7 -- new factory bug?
I'm getting mail with a Subject of "Internal Manufacturing Error" and a body text of "@system_msg:manf_error_7" from my factory as of a few minutes ago. Was working just fine earlier today.
As a result of this bug, my structure factory is no longer usable. Yay, fun, wow. Anyone else seeing this bug? I've confirmed the materials are in the input hopper and that the factory has maintenance and power.
yes,, we are testing this now trying to figure out what is causing the bug,,, Is your factory almost full? also did it eat up resources too,,, ?
check out the sticked thread.. on can we get this tested factory bug... too ..
For the record, the factory was in heavy use yesterday (off the top of my head I think I cranked out 10 BER13 heavies, 120 small structure storage modules, 300-500 bricks, 100 walls in the past 24 hours), and while neither input nor output hopper were full at the time the bug kicked in, the input hopper was full during at least one point in the day.
I finally got the test I was doing on test center to reproduce this.. stoped with 36 crates of structure modes.. and 32 crates of small storage units.. so 68 items in out put hopper...
2 stacks of resources in input hopper.. so i believe this is tied directly to out put hopper..
I run two different factories and I *think* that I've only encountered this with OMUs in the output hopper.
It is the output hopper. When you make a factory storage is one of the things that can be experimented on. With the new patch it seems that the storage percent, say 64%, gives you 64 output storage instead of 100%. This is bad since most people don't experiment on this, since it does nothing. I have many factories all going crazy with food, and they each stop at different amounts. Taking crates out of the output hopper then restarting solves the problem but creates a new one, storage. I can only put so many items in the input hoppers.
This is a rather nasty bug that needs to be hot fixed. I may be crazy, but it seems to progress, meaning less and less output hopper storage with each run.
BTW it may be linked to experimentation, I haven't run any test. I do know that it effects all factory types and each factories output hopper limit is different. So I am assuming it has to do with the experimentation. However it could do with ghosted crates in the output hopper meaning the game thinks their are still crates in the ouput hopper when they were removed. It does display the correct number of crates however. That is another possibility.
This is a bug though as it displays that 100 items is the output hoppers max.
I start with a fresh factory. Place the resources and a schematic for 1000 items inside. Start the factory. It makes the full run and my ouput hopper has 100 items in it. I remove all the items.
I place the resources and a new schematic in the factory and it runs till the output hopper reaches 60 or so. Then I get the error_7 email. I empty the hopper and start the factory again. This time it stops in the 30 range. Next it stops in the 10 range. At that point I redeed and start the process all over.
Each time I redeed it works fine the first time I fill the output hopper up. I am making ultra high complexity power ups with 3-4 stats. The runs of 1000 is 100 crates of 10. It takes more than a day so the factory is running over server reset when this happens.
Good luck solving this one. Since it has been around so long, I would think it would be very hard to find out what is causing it.
