Hi im almost at the point where im giong to have to grind the 33k exp to get to Novice Architect. Can anyone give me an indication on the most efficient items to produce to get there please?

I can't think of any special items but what you should work on is items that requires more then one kind of ressourses and the difficulty of the item which you see the number beside the item you are making when you choose it.

i just finished making the grind yesterday. i just sold my first house today and it felt good [and i stuck to selling at 3cr/unit].

definitely build chest plate bone armor. i think theyre a little over 300xp a pop. so you tell yourself, okay i only need to make about 110 of these to level. you wind up making only about 80 - 90 because you get somewhere around 25xp per fiberplast panel [x3 for each chest plate] and another 25xp or so per bone armor segment.

the resource costs are steep. seriously steep. i was fortunate enough to have my own steel mines and very recently procured a nice spot of fiberplast. without that it would have been tough. i did have to make a lot of deal for bulk bones and hide. i think i wound up going through about 4k each of those.

if youre on lowca, look me up [aguirre] i will get you all the fiberplast and steel you might need to grind your way. i can also get you suppliers for hide and bone, and i will give you my leftovers, enough for at least 5 chest plates.

good luck and good grinding.

I'm in exactly the same situation... I had figured already the Bone Chest armour was the way to go, but with the buildings in the Engineer tree going to be converted to General Exp, would it be better to wait?

depends on how quickly you want to be an architect.
with all the materials in place, you can make enough bone chest armour plates in an hour or two to make the grind.
i have a full time job AND a part time job, so it took me a couple of days.

again its up to you. efficiency vs patience? sometimes its a hard choice.

I believe, although I can't remember exactly, that the General Crafting Tool gives you 400xp per unit.

It is about 500xp per bone chest piece -- with practice turned on.

I Gained Novice Architect in a couple of hours as well, I also then maxed out my Domestic and Bussiness line, and gained Novice Chef. As stated above, it is just a matter of having the Resources on hand. I had 4K Bone, about 10 - 12K Hides, I believe I used less than a K of fiberplast (but had over 33K so, hard to say) and not a lot of metal.

Hides on Kauri seem to be expensive, far more so than Cereal and such, and a good bit more than Metal and Chems, so, for me the longest part of gaining general crafting xp was accumulating the Hides.

agreed, hides and bones were the bulk of time in getting to architect. my advice is to talk to as many hunters and scouts as you see in the game. out in the field especially. i ran into one hunter who sold me 2k of hides at 1cr/unit, no questions asked. i even insisted that this price was outrageously low, but he told me it was taking up space and money was no object, go figure.

i recall using quite a bit of fiberplast, well maybe on the order of 2k. i forget trivial data like that rather quickly. in any event, the organics are definitely the limiting factor in attaining architect via bone armour grinding.

also, you might try talking to low level scouts. hire them for something miniscule to you but big to them, say 1000cr, something that wont kill you if they run out on you. ask them to get you X amount of hide for say 1-3cr per unit, depending on how low level and/or trustworthy they are. that way they can meet you once or twice a day and supply you with your much needed hide and bone as you grind, and they gain cash and, more importantly, scout xp for their chosen profession.

i thought if that might work, the symbiosis would benefit many parties.

The fastest way is far from making bones... Because it requires some crafted components before making it.

Imho, the best object for grinding is the hide boots.

Why ?

Only 2 components, 100 xp if you practice, 5 or 10s to be built. Get 3 crafting tools, and you are gone for a fast leveling.

If you are a master aristan or at least have domestic arts iv then make travel packs. They are easy to do and give you great experience and you dont have to waste time on other components to make the final piece. They use a lot of resources which is good and bad and you can actually sell them if you are cheap enough.

Ive sold every pack I have ever made. I actually still make them b/c they sell better than any architectural item I make other than torches

I used clothing and armor crafting kits for my grind. I did the final grind after I had already created enough harvesters to get me started and used my first day's harvester run to grind through novice. Useing multiple kits on practice it took me about 2 hours and I didn't have to go hunting for more hides and bones.

I am on Lowca and thanks for the offer )

I'm really just not interested in the obligatory Smuggler/Pistoleer thing....so I thought Architect would be cool.

Send me a mail in game about the steel/fibreplast im sure we can work out some kind of deal. I'm master at making spice so prehaps if money is not your only interest I could sort you out with a batch of Muon Gold/Pixie.

In anycase thanks for the advise all.

chestplate bone armor is the way at 500xp pts each not to mention the extra points for making the components.

Only thing is you either need a little bit of combat and scouting skills to get the hides and bones or you need a friend to get them for you. (or if you are rich buy them off the bazaar)

Fix all that is broken first! Give yourselves a solid foundation to build on. Next, fix the heart of this game, the GCW.
Without it, there is no STAR WARS. Do these two things first! Then worry about Jedi and JTL.
Do this and your player base will love you for it and the game itself will be infinatly better. Do it not, and this game is dead.
May the force be with you.
