Thread: Warning: Bags on Vendors emptied
I just logged on today, sat down to do some crafting and retreived the bag from my vendor that I keep my spare resources in. Yes, I know. Vendors weren't ment for storage - yadda, yadda, yadda - but that's beside the point. I saw no warning that this was going to happen, maybe I'm blind. I saw nothing regarding it in the patch message this morning either.
If this is a bug, please fix it. If it's not a bug, you guys have a lot of explaining to do! If I had known this was coming, I would have taken everything out of all my vendor bags. As it is, I just lost about 200,000 resources,10,000 hides, 5 factory crates of Structure Modules,5 factory crates of various electronics that I need for crafting, and countless other miscellaneousclothing, armor and weapons. This could darn near put me out of business!

All of these items were in bagson the vendor in my house in the stockroom.
I know for sure the bags were all full and all the items were there lastnight before the servers went down. I logged on this morning, retrieved thebags, opened them - bam all empty.
I tried dropping the bags and picking them back up, giving them to another player to check, logging off and back on, etc, etc.- Nothing.

However this is really a problem. My main prof is going to be Merchant, with archi as a pure sideline...I plan on selling mainly for a tailor friend of mine...and one of my plans was to sell complete "uniforms" in backpacks....
They don't owe an explanation or warning for exploits.
Don't hold your breath. They got enough problems fixing and communicating about the MANY real problems.

An EXPLOIT? A workaround for a flawed system that only allows you to store 150 items in a huge house, maybe. Regardless of how I was using it tho, the fact still remains. Bags were emptied with no explaination or warning. That is unacceptable, I don't care where they were or what the reason.
Tued the Master Builder
There was an explanation and a warning. It happened about 2 weeks ago (maybe less). It stated that you cannot have bags in bags (nested bags/or storage units). This included bags on vendors I will bet because they are treated like a container. There was a bug/exploit where folks would have a bag inside a bag to keep an unlimited amount of items on their houses. That's been fixed now so you can no longer have nested bags. If you take the bag out it might be full now though. I put a full bag into a container in my house... it didn't have anything in it... took the bag out. right away, and everything was in it.
HTH HAND
Selling items in bags is perfectly legitimate, though that's not what this poster was doing.
It has worked just fine up until lastnight/this morning. I have ALWAYS kept bags with misc items and resources in my vendor and retreived them with no problem - all items intact.
Lastnight, I put them back in my vendor and logged off right before patch time. I logged on this morning after the patch and all bags empty.

Hmm.. didn't they increase it to 75 items per lot? And a large house take 4 lots, so that's 300 items, right?
Anyway, I feel for ya, if you lost a bunch of stuff. But maybe that'll be a lesson that you shouldn't keep so much junk laying around your house
I have a small house just filled with 5 backpacks worth of spare bits and resources and I just recently hit the 150 item limit. Of course I also have a half-full backpack on my person, but I think the limits to number of items are very reasonable considering the database problems they have. Ok, sorry, getting off topic here. I really was just wondering if the limit to number of items in a large house is really 150?
I run my own Harvesters, do you really think I have a large house? ![]()
I have a Medium house: 2 lots - 150 items
FYI, Large houses take 6 lots and hold 250 items
I will say however, that given the nature of their database problems, it isn't a given they were out to get you.
"Never ascribe to malice what can be explained by incompetence."
Perhaps they really were out to get you but I kind of doubt it. I don't know where they got their database programmers but I am very unimpressed.
