Thread: Nerf heavies...just a little
I would like to see a +1 or +2improvement on the extraction rates on heavies. right now there is not enough incentive for people to get a heavy. Just a little nerf would make a lot of difference in what people could get.
Then people would want them.
and we could sell them
I have not sold a heavy since the last patch (other than fusions) its not worth it.
You are misusing the word Nerf.
A 'nerf' to a heavy would be a -1 or -2.
I beleive what you are asking for is a buff.
In either case... i say no - leave them alone... rate 13s already pull in too much resources for miners to charge too much for (how can people who harvest their own resources actually think it costs them 2cr/unit to harvest it, especially w/ a rate 13??)
OK 3k resources for a BER 10 or 30k for a BER 13. then the costs
BER 10 are 40k
BER 13 are 175k?
so for an additional 400% in costs and an extra 50% in costs to run/power usage from a medium you get 30% more materials?
BER 10 are 40k
BER 13 are 175k?
Are these your prices?
I would feel like a criminal selling things for that much.

If they dont do that i would hope for a drop of 1 in the medium rate. There just is not enough of a difference.

Supposedly in this patch (tommorow) the mineral schem has been corrected to use walls instead of struct mods... All i know is i'm making a bunch tonite then to be completely dishonest i'll sell them next week at the new prices

Really ? Then I'm a criminal. But if that is the case, what does that make the resource sellers ?
lol call me nuts b/c i selll 40k and 200k and still don't have any instock... not to mention i buy walls by the hundreds.... it's really easy to get those prices as far as I'm concernd i'm cheap b/c i'm still not able to keep an inventory ![]()
and is this med mineral thing true!!!! ahhh!!!
65k and 175k is what I been selling them for. That’s cheep when you look at the current value of the Good steel it takes to make the high end ones is at. Current cpu on my sever seems to befor 900+ UT,HR,SR steel is 9cpu on the cheep stuff and I have seen 12cpu in one vender.
Though I have to say I would love to see a nerf on those Mediums, BER 8 would be about right. Theirs no reason why mediums over lap the Heavies the way they do.
GotEgg - you are under a common misapprehention about fairness in pricing. The fact that you made mediums when they required modules (which they still do - no change that I have seen), does not mean you are dishonest to sell at the new price when the price changes.
Look at this example - you make gold rings, using two components, gold and labor. Let's say you use $200 in gold and $200 in labor (and profitand other costs), and you sell for $400. The next day the price of gold doubles to $400. Now every ring you have made contains $400 in gold, and still contains $200 worth of labor, overhead and normal profit. Do you sell for $400? Of course not, it costs you $600 to replace the ring. The ring is worth $600, you sell for $600, and it is not dishonest of you to do so. If the price of gold dropped to $100 you could not sell your rings for $400 when everyone else sold for $300 because gold was cheaper.
Themediums, like the ring, has a value, and the value is the same whatever you paid to make it. When the components of the price change the price of the finished product tends to change with it. If it goes up you make extra $$ for having held the product when the price went up, when the price goes down you have to eat the losses, too.
Part of the problem on Tempest is that someone made 700 BER 10 mediums and sold them for 18k each.
But, listen - your customers pay attention to you. BER 13 is SO much better than BER 10 that it won't hurt your cred to push it. I often say things to my customers like, "Yeah, you can get that BER 10.. but if you REALLY want to pull massive ammounts of copper, take the big boy. The big boy is the way to go."
