Thread: Just an observation...
What happen to all the rants and complaints about mind damage and how we should be able to heal it and how it needs to have some kind of rework...
that was the general theme of much of the mind damage threads that were here prepatch...
now that we are the main users of mind damage...all i hear is mind poison is not over powered...mind damage is not an issue...i have to use xxx amount of materials to craft it...or I had to work to level a master CM and so on...
sounds like the same excuses people were using prepatch on why no HAM cost KD was valid...or why rifleman should do 2000+ mind damage....
from what i see, if anything the patch just made things far worse in terms of mind damage because mind damage is now the only way to effectively kill people. now that buffs are fixed, I regularly see people running around with 2000+ H and A....and 700 mind....
I suppose, just like you had pre-patch comments and post patch comments and told us not to confuse the 2, so do other people!
*smirk*
I'm just waiting for the Correspondents report to come back. It's pretty clear nothing's going to change till then.
If they dodge the question, or just give a smart-alec reply (with a smiley-emoticon). I'll start bitching again.
With the damage reduction, I find I'm doing less and less healing. Damage is definately migrating toward all mind-damage.
Anyway, I'll be patient for another week or so for the report to come back. Hope some of us are still left.
perhaps people just realized that mind healing isent really an important issue and that they just thought it was, when they were clueless as of how the game was balanced...
but more likely the noobs who are now feeling uber, but still dont have a clue whats going on, just stopped whining. gotta give them credit for not shooting themselves in the foot.
not if u give rifleman 1 hit capability to both H and A...
if mind damage goes, there are other way to insure rifleman maintain their combat viability by shifting to other hams...
Mind healing in the game = any team playing PvEwith a medic plays in god-mode
I think you should stop worrying about mind damage.
Just because you CM stopped talking about it doesn't mean rest of us did.
If something is a "real" issue, it wouldn't go away unless the dev address them.
I think where you went wrong was trying to do damage control before there was damage.
Sure you have an advantage with your mind damage, and although I don't think it is an "exploit" to use them, anyone can see that if such usage is prevalent then everyone will complain and Dev doing what they do will over "fix" it by doing something drastic like making do damage in health instead of mind and probably reduce the damage amount in half as well.
I am sure that is exactly what you were trying to avoid, by pre-emptive "self-reduction" you tried to avoid that un-avoidable nurf that is sure to come with over usage of any skill.
Problem is you look way to far down the road.
Just step on anyone calling for nurf of your class and don't be a hero
Biggest problem with Mind damage is for what the HAM costs are on a rifleand a rifledoesn't do enough damage in PvP.
Second Biggest problem is that Eye Shot should take a mind drain or have a timer. This really borks rifleman as the Mind Pool damager.
I think most people have learned how to deal with mind damage in PvE. That when in a group and your mind is low its time to bail out and take a bit of a break while the others work on the target. It's here to stay and we're not going to be able to heal it.
mind healing is bad except when trying to heal an incapped player.
I suggested Smelling Salts for situations where a person is mind incapped only.
