While in the middle of manufacturing...you need a few of what you are making...click on option. This will open the output hopper and you will be able to retract finished crates.

Yepp, I regularly do that helps keep vendors stocked while you complete a factory run, also you can pull out other components if you make a big batch without completing the run so that you can start up another factory doing final combines.

You do relize that even if you stop the run and take the item out, and then restart the run that the serial numbers stay the same right?!
The serial number is tied to the Schematic not the run.
This is very helpful when making say a 1000 run of walls. 
You can even remove the schematic put something else in and then come back later and put the schematic in and it will have the same serial numbers.

yepp, but no need to stop the run at all if you only want to take something out, less clicking to just open the output hopper and take out what you want, saves restarting the factory.

yes, i restart the factory when I need something in the imput hopper...but what I have posted saves you 1-5 minutes on the total factory run

WOW!!! I never knew about this!!
I am actually usually afraid to stop my factories, since I have lost resources so often. But now that I know this little tidbit............ woohoooo!!![]()

Bad things may happen if you take out a crate that isn't full yet. I wouldn't recommend that.

I have done this about 100 times....it always works fine
