1) Will you pick up merchant?

1a) will you have enough with the item limits to hold your viable business.. ?

2) will you find a merchant to sell your stuff?

3) will you give your items to that merchant and have them pay you as they sell... ?

4) Will you make the merchant pay you first?

If none of these questions fit for what you are planning on doing what will you be doing?

Ok .. Please No flames.. just simple answers... thanks ... and be as kandid as you can be....

I'm already 3044 in Merchant. I honestly don't know what I'll do. I could try more "specialty" vendors ("chairs, sofa's and loveseats), but I think that that sucks pretty badly. I'll give serious consideration to going out of business rather than trash my reputation or spend more of my game time servicing vendors. So I may help them with their database problem by quiting the game.

At this stage I'm looking at quitting the game completely.

I dont mind picking up mor merchant skills (I have enough to run my 5 vendors legally), but with the low numbers involved I seriously could not contemplate doing nothing else in this game except sit on my vendors.

This announcement has killed the game for me.

5) Cancel 2 accounts.

I've said it many times now, I find their proposed solution completely intolerable. I've played many MMPRGS before SWG, I've never made a statement like that in responseto an update/publish - for any game.

I was not exaggerating when I said that this was a game-breaker for me. Not because I couldn't adapt, but because I can't accept their logic for doing it in the first place.

I have a small-to-medium business with about 300 items between two vendors. I actually have master merchant but was planning on dropping at least some of the skills.

My plan is to drop enough skills to let me place about 400 items on vendors.

I would LIKE to drop all of merchant and sell my stuff wholesale to other "real" merchants. The problem is that very few merchants actually do this.

There needs to be some type of interface where you can sell your wares on another persons vendor and be sure that you will receive money for it.

At this point my guess is that a crafter who wants to sell a variety of products will just bite the bullet and get Master Merchant.

The thing that may happen with this change is that all crafters may have to specialize within their prof. An armorsmith who only sells suits of kinetic armor or a droid engineer who only sells utility droids.

1. Already have merchant 3-0-0-4 for all the vendors in my personal shop.

2. If I didn't already have it, I would do it myself because....

3. No, because I wouldn't trust someone other than very close friends not to jip me out of what was mine.

4. This is what I would do, but it would be difficult to find a merchant that had enough credits to start a resale business like that.

What I will be doing depends on whether they get their heads out of their butts and realizes that the community at large does not want this. If they go forth with these vendor caps, I will no longer be a crafter (which I have been since one month after launch). It would just not be possible to run the business I have worked so hard to build with these kind of restrictions. And if I can't find something that I enjoy as much as I do crafting and having my shop.......I don't even want to go there because I wanted this game so badly.

It very much falls in line with "game-breaking" because that is truly what I believe it would do. They have not given strong reasons--or any reasons at this point--for going forth with such a drastic change that has no benefit for the community at large. The only proposed benefit would be to their databases, which at this point I am guessing they are just too cheap to upgrade. There are so many other things they could do first if the databases are suffering so badly (such as clean up the "illegal" and abandoned vendors, getting rid of crap loot drops like ugly clothes and crappy weapons, and purge the system of cancelled/deleted accounts).

They've already hit the community hard enough by pushing back the combat and GCW revamp, but at least those had decent reasons that I could understand. This one makes no sense. And the fact that they haven't done much to let people know about it in advance (or at all, considering the patch notes are only on the test center login screen) just makes me think there's more going on. Brilliant move by springing that one on the community when they already knew it would have a negative response (because of that discussion thread a few months back and the response at Fan Fest when it was mentioned) just as they go into the weekend. It's a great way to get the entire community incensed and outraged, then offer an "appeasement" of a slightly higher cap so people might accept it easier. Maybe that's just paranoia, but it wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

What's left to do if this goes through, I don't know. Combat needs help. The GCW needs help. Crafting will be an enormous and horrible time-sink while dealing with greedy customers who can't find a crafter anymore. There's always entertaining, but I want something more to DO than that. Kind of running out of options.....

I've always tried to stay positive and supportive of the devs, but I can't do it this time.

1a) will you have enough with the item limits to hold your viable business.. ?

2) will you find a merchant to sell your stuff?

3) will you give your items to that merchant and have them pay you as they sell... ?

4) Will you make the merchant pay you first?

1. I have Merchant XXX3 At the moment with legit vendors. Was (previous to nerf going public) thinking about picking up Advert 3 as well.

1a) I will NOT have enough space to sell mylegit mechandise even with killing my fishing tourney vendor.

2. I will TRY to find a merchant to sell my stuff, but that will be difficult as merchants will be limited to 660 items. I'm sure they will have a hard time selling their own stuff let alone mine. Forget about it.

3. I will not have the merchant pay me as they sell.

4. The merchant will pay me FIRST at the rate I would normally sell the item. Any markup after that is his own discression. Pay me first or you get no goods.

Most important is #1 and #2. With the low item count I will not be able to run my own business and I guarantee that other merchants will not be able to resell for other people either.

If this goes through my vendor business is over. Done. I'll drop merchant all together and sell furniture in the bazaar, and a TON of chance cubes advertising my services for special orders. In fact I'll probably drop the business line in artesian as well to save me even more points. Before nerf Master Architect, Master Artesian, Merchant 3xx4 was the plan. After Nerf Master Architect, Artesian 4xx4. I'll use the points somewhere else.

1) No. Already a master merchant

1a) No. Not in the least.

2) No. I spent skill points to be able to sell my own things.

3) No. I have no desire to trust others with my items.

4) No.

If these changes come to pass, I will be leaving the game.

1.I am already a master merchant

1a. Probably not, as i have way more than 1000 items on my 6 vendors, will probably stop selling furniture and cut down on the powerups and concentrate on houses and harvesters.

2.No

3.No

4.No

Will be retracting my item purchasing business, due to limited vendor space

1) The vendor issues have been long foreshadowed and I will go master Merchant

1a I dont think so not and have a vendor stocked the way I and my customers expect it to be! also see part 2 for a fuller explanation

2) With the Vendor exploit be well leaked as being removed soon I had made tentative arrangements with a number of crafters in my city and guild to BE the merchant for them and sell there goods. I cannot seriously manage my own with the currently presented vendor limit and certainly couldnt act as a true merchant for others with the limit as is!

3) As mentioned above i have made tentative arrangements with some of the smaller crafters and offered THEM the choice. Either I pay a lower price up front or just take a small 5% cut as they sell!

4) ditto

I will not be leaving the game . Whatever happens I will cope somehow!

I love the game It is FAR superior to any other I play but I despair at times at what is chosen to be changed and what seems to remain forever as a problem with little or no attention.

If someone from the developers gave an honest statement of WHY this is happening It would help. i wrack my brains to see a reason.

The only one I see as a possiblity is concerns about the database with the upcoming JTL launch and a Deliberate removal of some functions in the game to "shoehorn" the code in for this. I would argue with this about many points but at least it would be a reason I could understand. I could accomodate to. But without a , how did you say, "Candid" answer from the DEVS it just looks like a typical lets solve a problem with blinkers on response to a current problem. Without looking at the Overview of the Game.

I would just like to say that Sony has given me one thing. A truely new experience: considering Microsoft to be the lesser of two evils.

There you go short and sweet.
