1) Will you pick up merchant?
2) will you find a merchant to sell your stuff?
3) will you give your items to that merchant and have them pay you as they sell... ?
4) Will you make the merchant pay you first?
If none of these questions fit for what you are planning on doing what will you be doing?
Ok .. Please No flames.. just simple answers... thanks ... and be as kandid as you can be....
1. Already have merchant 3-0-0-4 for all the vendors in my personal shop.
2. If I didn't already have it, I would do it myself because....
3. No, because I wouldn't trust someone other than very close friends not to jip me out of what was mine.
4. This is what I would do, but it would be difficult to find a merchant that had enough credits to start a resale business like that.
What I will be doing depends on whether they get their heads out of their butts and realizes that the community at large does not want this. If they go forth with these vendor caps, I will no longer be a crafter (which I have been since one month after launch). It would just not be possible to run the business I have worked so hard to build with these kind of restrictions. And if I can't find something that I enjoy as much as I do crafting and having my shop.......I don't even want to go there because I wanted this game so badly.
It very much falls in line with "game-breaking" because that is truly what I believe it would do. They have not given strong reasons--or any reasons at this point--for going forth with such a drastic change that has no benefit for the community at large. The only proposed benefit would be to their databases, which at this point I am guessing they are just too cheap to upgrade. There are so many other things they could do first if the databases are suffering so badly (such as clean up the "illegal" and abandoned vendors, getting rid of crap loot drops like ugly clothes and crappy weapons, and purge the system of cancelled/deleted accounts).
They've already hit the community hard enough by pushing back the combat and GCW revamp, but at least those had decent reasons that I could understand. This one makes no sense. And the fact that they haven't done much to let people know about it in advance (or at all, considering the patch notes are only on the test center login screen) just makes me think there's more going on. Brilliant move by springing that one on the community when they already knew it would have a negative response (because of that discussion thread a few months back and the response at Fan Fest when it was mentioned) just as they go into the weekend. It's a great way to get the entire community incensed and outraged, then offer an "appeasement" of a slightly higher cap so people might accept it easier. Maybe that's just paranoia, but it wouldn't be the first time that's happened.
What's left to do if this goes through, I don't know. Combat needs help. The GCW needs help. Crafting will be an enormous and horrible time-sink while dealing with greedy customers who can't find a crafter anymore. There's always entertaining, but I want something more to DO than that. Kind of running out of options.....
I've always tried to stay positive and supportive of the devs, but I can't do it this time.
