Thread: Price Drops

I'm a architect on Scylla who makes harvesters in LARGE quantity, and lately sales have been very slow even at the reduced 120k price for heavies. I checked other vendors, and most are 120-160k for BER 13's. Ones I'm making have mostly 120k+ hopper, which is simi hard to do. I have vendors in two major cities on my server, and yet sales are still soft. I only sell 3-10 harvesters a day.

I was wondering what everyone on other servers charge, and if there sales are soft also?

Well economies on other servers is going to be different, but I'm charging quite a bit less than you are more so with my price reduction today. I'm hoping going discounter might spike my sales a little bit.

I wish I could get your prices. On Sunrunner, our heavy prices are round 60-85k. 160k would be a dream.

Im not surprised the market has reached saturation point. You are complaining about only selling 10 harvestors a day, so i would assume that on a good day you may sell 30 or 40. Even if there is only 1 architect selling harvestors at this volume per core planet, you would probably get saturation within a few months. I figure the only reason the harvestor market hasnt come crashing down around our ears is that people tend to hold onto harvestors once they have bought them. There must be thousands of harvestors sitting around in peoples bank deposit boxes.

I am on Bria, prices for heavies seem to range from 90-185k, I am about to buck the trend and this weekend I plan to INCREASE my prices to the very top end of the range, I am fed up with working for peanuts. I will also be announcing my price increase publicly and very unashamedly on the trade forum. It will be interesting to see the reaction

well test your own brain

what you are expecting to sell continously products which are once sold never will get replaced?

aka in economy tearms the market will be flooded over time and to reduce the prices even more rediculous lower will sure NOT bring more sales lol

if u have 100 people who will need 10 harvesters each on the whole market, means demand is 1000 at start and the first architect sales go pretty well, then since harvesters are a one buy thingy the demand goes down and sooner or later you will only sell to new players who wish to own a harvester. thats obviously and price reduction will not boost the demand at all.

every harvester sold reduces the demand, which doesent mean you should reduce the prices in this case, its a natuaral demand loss and not cause of prices.

new players will always need new harvesters but its simply way lesser then while nobody had them.

Actually it isnt just harvestors that the market is slow on, it is on almost all items except for armor and some weapons.

Tailors i know are complaining and furniture sales are way down. I thin it is a combo of a few factors:

1) It is the end of school term for alot of schools and universities so kids are having finals, graduations and moving back home, alot cant play right now.

2) as stated the game has been out for almost a year now and the market is saturated with these tiems that dont decay. Only new players are looking for these items, otherwise it is a few here nad there sales.

3) servers populations are decreasing, due to #1 above, people switching from higher priced economy servers to lower economy servers. and some leaving to try some of the new games out.

4) Hologrinders flooded the market with tons of cheap items, since sales are slow alot of people are using the cheaper items to get by on right now.

I think that given time it will pick up some, but for those of us that have been it since the start, I dont think we will see the booming sales we once did, unless decay for all items is initialized. I hate the thought but what else can be done.

I agree that a lot of what we are seeing now is the economies as a whole slowing down. I expect things should pick up some once summer hits and school gets out. Then we might be due for another big boost when JTL comes out.

Well I feel a bit for the newer Master Architects, since a lot of us were able to sell a fair number of havesters. I do hope it does pick up again, although since sales in the past have been inflated due to hologrinders etc, I don't think we will see those numbers again. I'm sure something else will come along that is we can sell. If not, well there is always other professions.

Hi all, i am a master arch onAhazi, and I only sell medium harvs unless i get a special order. My minerals and vaporators sell at 25k, and my chem and gas go at 35k.These prices are in the lower range, but i still get a lot of business. I usually have to restock my vendor every 2 days or so. I sell about 20 per day, (not quite sure if this is EXACT, cause i just restocked after about 3 weeks worth of inactivity). Two things work that i have found: #1: KEEP YOUR VENDOR STOCKED. People will go to a vendor continuously if it is stocked continuously. I know that after 3 weeks of no stock, almost no one bought a thing.#2 ADVERTISE.This will go a long way torwards getting business.

Another thing
