Thread: Droid Detection Device Delusion Getting Out of Hand

Ok,

This myth and delusion on the Jedi boards that Droid Detection Devices actually do something is getting out of hand. You actually have to prove that something that has never worked before that all of a sudden it does.

I tested this. Either it only works on bomb droids (couldn't test that) or everyone on that board is on wacky weed and they're not sharing it with everyone.

Do we actually have to get a Dev response on this? I just can't get myself to claim this works just so I can sell them that way - doesn't seem right.

I would not waste a DEV answer on this silliness.

All we should be required to do is tell them that as far as we know the DDD's do nothing and are just decorative. If they want to believe in myth and rumor, then so be it.

i think it's kind of funny myself. maybe they should start being made with a rating, so we start seeing messages like "my DDD is 44.609, Elyssa made it for me, no droids so far!"

Someone needs to loosen P's hawtpants!

Of course they do something! And the new DWXB-42 Model uses special crystal components to enhance the effect.

The vilest of insults!! Implying that I'd be caught dead in hawt pants! I'm outraged!!

And besides the DWXB-42's can't be made anymore, least not since 'temporary tuesday'. So you must have an old pre-nerf schematic. With current experimentation we can only hit a -34 at max. And since Kettemoor didn't have any good reactive gas we could only hit 40 or maybe 41 tops even on 'temporary tuesday'.

Oh... I've said too much.

Oh.. one quick question for you Fivo. Did you use the Broken Datapad loot drop in the second metal slot? Or just the mineral survey tool?

Mineral survey tool. But you have to complete phase 2 crafting quest for it to work.

Bah! You're all talking me into taking advantage of people's stupidity.

Guess if they want and DEMAND to be taken advantage of, who am I to disagree. You really should read the Jedi boards for a good laugh - especially if you point out that they don't work. I was accused of not stating a fact but only an opinion ROFL. /shrug

Lol, good point.

Let's keep the rumor going... in fact let's add to it. LEt's say they do a lot of stuff, and start jacking up the prices.. maybe the best way to help the stagnate Arch economy

I'll just restateIread several posts on the Jedi forum where players have done experiments with Droid Detection Devices. The posts were not written tongue-in-cheek, but appeared to be serious attempts to ascertain if the devices work. The conclusion was that they did, at least according to two different experiments.

Of course, people are free to doubt the tests, just as people doubt the ineffectiveness of crafting stations with high functionality. I still have players asking for high-end stations, which I refuse to make, because I believe the experiments conducted by Architects were sincere and fair. Likewise, I'm going to believe the Jedi players who performed the experiments unless someone else can refute it with another experiment.

But, to be on the safe side, I still charge just 500 credits for DDDs. If a player asked me to experiment on one, I'd charge them accordingly, but not excessively.
