hello, i'm sorry if this has been asked bevore, but i'm no architect and don't know if this issue is being adressed already. I tried a quick search but i didn't find the awnser.

just a min ago i tried placing furniture on the rooftop of our big PA Hall. Unfortunately this did not work, i had a grand idea to make it into a nice rooftop garden with walkthroughs and loveseats.

is the posebillety to decorate the rooftop one of the issues architects are adressing with the dev's? and is there a posebillety i might see my dreamgarden come true in the near future?

thanks,

Nope, sorry. At this point at least the open upper area of a PA hall is considered outdoors and not a part of the PA Hall for some reason, so you aren't able to put anything out there.

Same thing in large Naboo houses.

I think the problem is that if people had visible things outdoors, then SWG would have to load the objects as people walked by.

You know the huge lag that kicks in when you enter some houses? Well, you'd get that in player cities pretty much all the time while everyone's machine loaded art assets. It would be bad, as much as I agree that I'd like the thing too.

Iagree with the point of lag if placing stuff on balconies and front doors would be allowed. But in the upper outdoor court of the PA hall i think it should be allowed. This can still be coded as not showing to the outside (i would imagine) yet i would be lovely from the inside.

as it is now I can't think of anything where that big courtyard can be used for, it woudl be so nice if we can utelise that space.

Perhaps the devs could "glass in" the porches and rooftops so we can put things there. O r allows us to have the area "glassed in" by an architect after the fact or during construction.

Has anyone tried planting a city garden on the roof of a PA Hall that is within the boundaries of a player city?

Might try that myself tonight and see if it can be done.

On the roof of a PA hall? I very much doubt that will ever be happen. You forget that the gardens are deeds, not dropable items like a fountain or statue. Your basically attempted to use a structure deed within a structure, which has never been done. Also your forgeting one very important thing: structures cannot be stacked ontop of structures. Your are attempting to use a garden deed on the roof of your PA hall todrop it on the roof, now, isnt your PA hall ALREADY there taking up drop space? Even if your taken into the drop screeen (since your considered outdoors when on the roof), your PA all is already occupying the spot your trying to drop the garden. There's no way your attempt will succed since your attempting to basically drop two structures to occupy the same space. That will never happen, you'll always see the area you want to drop the Garden as red since your PA hall is already there.

Speaking of fountains, has anyone tried to drop one of those on the roof of a PA Hall in a player city? This just might work, as they are placable outsidein player cities, but they are not a deed. Just a thought.

No, it wouldn't work. Gardens are in deed format - not furniture like statues. You can't overlap two building structures like that.

So I would say we can conclude that at this point we cannot place anything (neither citygarden-deeds nor furniture nor statue/fountains) on the big patio of the PA Hall.

Does anybody know if the dev's have anything for us in store to use on the PA hall (perhaps as landing site for the space expansion)?

Does anybody know if the architect correspondend has this question in his/her list for the dev's to fix (as apperently there are some people that would like to do something with that big unused empty space ontop of their PA)?

thanks,

you cant put a plant down on the pa hall roof - but you can sample there - that makes sense!
