Below is from the FAQ, I'm not sure on the exact resource requirements for each method but its 'lots'...

Q-5.2: What is a good grind item? How do I grind to master?

A-5.3: For holo-grind info including a grind macro see this thread:

There are some options here: walls, statues or crafting stations. Walls can be sold for a profit but require more clicks. You have to make 10 structure modules per wall. Walls take 3000 resources total (800 metal and 2200 ore) and give 6000 XP. Statues are the fastest way to XP but they don't have a big market and require a lot of gemstone. Statues also use 3000 resources (2000 ore and 1000 gems) and give 5000 XP. Crafting stations can be ok as well since they can be made with just metals. Stations take just 400 metal and 50 mineral and give 900 XP. (XP numbers verified by Pawlin, July 16th)

Usually when someone asks what the best way is to grind architect, they usually mean what way is the fastest. Grinding Gungan Statues is the fastest way. Is it the best way? It's a big waste of resources. The market for statues isn't high so you'll probably be practice mode the entire time. So you'll become a master architect super fast. I guess what the best way for you depends on when you want to start crafting and selling as an architect. If you're fine with a slower rate of grinding, I'd suggest grinding walls. It's slower and requires more clicks, but if you actually craft and dont' use practice mode, you'll have components that you can use later on. Walls are very slow to factory build.

To me the "best" way means not wasting resources but actually turning a profit while you're still leveling up. If you get your resources for 1 CPU or less build small houses and sell them on the bazaar or to a master architect. Selling walls to a master is also a good choice as mentioned above. Some say build walls for your own use later but un-crated I found they just took up too much inventory space.

I mastered architect back before they added statues to the game and I made a deal with someone to sell them 20 medium flora harvesters. They were willing to accept BER 8 and 9 at a significant discount.

It took me two days but basically I broke even on the 9's and lost a little bit on the 8's but I got SO much xp and it didn't cost me very much money.

Then again, this was back in the day when having 100k in the bank was considered a LOT of money.

I looked on the swgcraft forums after someone told me to grind the heads, and I was harvesting away grinding what I could with each days harvest take, and seen a post on the xp gained for making factories. If you totally hand craft everything for the factories you wind up with 23k+ xp for each factory you make. It isnt fast like the statues. But you make good xp and can sell your factory deeds for some decent cash.

Especially since lots of folks are using the factories for storage.

You can't hit 45.0 with current experimentation rules. 45.0 was only possible on 'Temporary Tuesday' or 'Crafting Day', the one day about a year ago when experimentation changed for 1 day only.

Right now you can get in the 43-44 range with the best materials. If you're having difficulty getting up in the 40's and have the best materials then check further down this page for the Guide to Crafting Stations thread or in the FAQ for tips.

I personally prefer walls, its not as fast as statues, but you always need walls... and lots of them.. You can still master in a day , just takes more thinking and an extra click or two.

From start to finish Mastering Archetech took me a week of evenings. My only hold up was lack of ore when I started. I was Master WS at the time and didnt have alot of ore handy and didnt want to purchase it so I just ran threw whatever ore my harvesters collected daily to grind with.

All I made was small houses and of course the needed parts and peices for them. I didnt use a macro, just back and forth between 2 crafting tools. Had I had alot of ore around this could have been cut back to 2-3 evenings of grinding, so a fairly quick grind can be done.

This was the first crafting grind I did were I didnt practice and kept all the houses and components. Every single house I built sold with in hours of putting them up for sale. I didnt get rich but this was first crafting grind that didnt cost me hundreds of thousands of credits to complete.

Some of us ground Master before statues. Even today, I would recommend that IF you plan on playing an Architect then your best bet is to endure the grind through making walls. Honestly, you cannot imagine how many walls you're going to need to keep a successful business going. Grinding my walls by hand gave me a appreciation for what is necessary to achieve a good volume Architect business.
