Dayln bait....

I catch anything? LOL. Probably.

Last night I changed my title from Master Architect to Master Merchant. No, I didn't sell back my architect skills, just got tired of getting hit up every 5 minutes for this structure of that structure, only to get a LOL, you are overpriced when I gave them my hair over 3 cpu price. The final straw was someone wanted a guild hall and refused to pay more than 120k.

The guy found some other dumb (bleep) to make it. I did get the name. Now, since I have been getting allot of interested customers, I figured that I might take advantage of the situation.

After a lengthy discussion with this lowballer, I discovered his prices where as low as low can be. I also figured that his prices are SO low, that I could probably sell for about 20-30% above what he is charging.

Now, I have 3 options here. Keep in mind my goal is to make money. With that in mind I could...

a) Build structures at about 2.8 cpu run my arse off, and make one of those Dalyn "hefty profits".

b) Not build anything, and let the lowballers cut throat each other until most quit or they start paying people to take their structures.

c) Make the cut throat numb nuts work for me by buying his structures and tacking on a 20% and reselling them.

I'll take C. No effort, and a chunk of change. I make money for using my brain, and lowballer X, gets to run around gathering resources for a Dayln "hefty profit". I think that will work best. I get the money, the other Architect in his infinite cut throat wisdom gets the scraps and a crap load of work.

It may work, or may not. The world is filled with middle men that do nothing but retail. Since I have master merchant, with the advertising to go with it, and a very steady flow of people in and out of my shop everyday, it just may work.

I sold 2 PA halls this weekend, but I still base my price on the going rates on my server. Although I could make a "heafty profit" selling for 120k cr and I am prepared too sell at that price when I need too, instead I made a heatier profit selling the generic for 280k cr and the planatary for 250k cr which was about 20% less thanthe going rate on my server.

I defend those that sell for less, I just sell for a percentage less than the going rate.

I have really thought about just keeping MA for now but, turn into a miner for a bit. I finally got caught up on my orders. I may just hold off and just sell resources and see how Architect turns out.

Nope, never said I thought you where the one selling for 120k. I reread my post, still couldnt find where I said that.

I know you love to jump all over pricing complaints so I knew you would take that bait in about 60 seconds. In reality, I think you jumped quicker than that.

So, to sum it up, it was not an acusation that you sell Guild Halls for 120k, but a bet that you would hit this post because of the nature of its content.

And I was right...

Sorry if the hook was too sharp. LOL.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

You think have "won" something when you mention my name and falsly state my opinions and I reply to you

Peronally, I favour option D.

D) Keep selling at my own prices. When someone complains refer them to the lower priced architect. The increased volume for them means a bigger backlog and faster burnout.

e) Keep selling at your own price. When someone complains ignore them. Whenyou get backlogged on orders purchase deeds from lowballer and resell them at your standardprice. Never mention lowballer to anyone. If asked why lowballers name is on the deed explain that you occasionally utilize subcontractors to keep your prices low.

Hmmm pretty sad.. resort to insults when someone correctly guesses you would be on a thread. Of course people resort to insults when you hit close to home... little touchy aren't ya?

Now, you said that I said that you would sell a Guild Hall for 120k..

Lie. No where did I post that.

You said that a falsly stated your opinions.

Lie. I did not state ANY of your opinions.

Let this dull tool educate you as to the simple meaning of my post... again, I made a guess that you would have something to say in this post because the nature of it.. Thats all I said, nothing more. Nothing about your selling price, nothing about any other of your opinions. I also did it in a light hearted, humorous way. Reread it.. AGAIN, step back, take a breath, and apologize for the insult. Prove that you are better than some insecure moronic twit, that comes to these boards to twist players and developers perception into something that would benefit you. From reading most of your posts, I would honestly say you are way above that.

Even at that, it is strangethat you are defending something that was not attacked. You seem to be more than just a bit Insecure. Maybe, maybe not.

The only "opinion" I stated here is that you would be on this thread because of the nature of its content. Please refrain from some sort of twisted spin, or seeing things that are not written. Please point to the exact line I stated one of your opinions incorrectly.

Now, if you want to twist the truth, and spin that idea around to get some point across, fine. Ill take that point of view for a second.

Just to clarify my stand point. I don't disagree with you on the free market economy. I have stated in the past, that it sucks for architects, but trying some sort of price fixing would be bad. As far as RL economy, I believe in the "almost" totally free economy. People have the right to buy and sell for what they like, but because of human nature, can not be left to go totally unregulated. As I have said, if you let people do it.. right wrong, unethical, immoral, or down right criminal, they will do it, if they can profit from it.

The state that structures sell for is a pile of you know what, but as it stands now, there is nothing that can be or should be done about it(in a free market.. as it should be).

I think it is pretty sad too, you misrepresent and then laugh like you have won something when the person you misrepresent replies.

If you would like to have an actual discussion about business practices as they relate to SWG I am all for it and would enjoy the conversation. But baiting people by misrepresenting them sounds a little desperate to me.

I am not insecure at all, I know what works for me, but then I am not the one trying to bait people by misrepresenting them.

GMT,

You deliberately use someone elses name THREE times in a post.. and then try to ridicule them for responding????

Are you serious?

Dayln is right on this one... you aren't "Winning" anything here.

For some reason you are chosing to "Bait" someone, and then try to laugh it up when you get a response...

I wonder how long you would ignore a post on this board with the title "GrandMufTarkin is aLousy Architect and OVER PRICED".... not long im guessing, because your name was used. It's the same principal.

I happen to think that if you had left out Dayln's name he still would have responded, but thats because there are several of us on this board that LIKE to debate and discuss these things. We don't need goading to do it.

Incidentaly.. don't accuse someone of name calling and then do the same thing yourself... it makes you look foolish.

First of all, the entire purpose of the post was not bait, it was about the lowest of low prices. The bait thing was thrown in as a light hearted SECONDAY joke.. a JOKE. Take it as such.... please!!

Here is a RL example to convey my meaing of the bait comment...

At a picnic. You set out a bunch of drinks for allot of kids.. You say to your wife.. I bet you it takes 2.2 seconds for some kid to pick up one of those glasses and dump it all over the place.

- Did I place the drinks there for the purpose of baiting a child to dump it? NO.

* Did I make this post for the purpose of baiting Dayln into posting? NO.

- Or is it, because I placed the drinks there, for kids to pick up, knowing the nature of children, I am making a light hearted comment about human nature and the probability of something occuring? Yeah.

* Or is it, because I made a post about an experience I had with someone selling a guild hall for 120k, and I know Daylnlike to comment onarchitect pricing posts?Yeah.

If all some of you get out of my post was exclusively an attack on Dayln, and that is all you saw, then you need a bit of insight into reality and human nature. These games and the internet are warping your understanding of life beyond your computer screens.

Fact is, I knew that with a high certainty, that Dalyn would comment on the post, and in reality, I enjoy some of the debates. If you go back some posts, you can even find me grudgingly agree with some of the past discussions. I have also made the comment that he seems pretty knowledgable in things like this(think I said something about someone running their own business).

Ohh, there is nothing wrong with using someones name when you are speaking to them, it is what you would call polite. Too many he's, she's, and them's confuse the meaning anyway.

Anyway, I am sorry if that post was misunderstood, I try to be straight forward, and allot of times blunt and to the point.

About the insults... Yeah, I may look foolish condemning someone for insulting me, by turning aound and insulting them in return, I agree. But I am not the kind of person that will take a half sarcastic 3/4 wit insult and not return it in kind. If you don't want to be called pathetic and sad, don't call me stupid. I am a reasonable person, but I am not one to turn the other cheek for a slap in the face.

Finally, although I thinkI went a bit too deep for this forum with the typical three line drivel that is spewn here most often, I want to make my point clear... one last time.

1) I find my discussions, specifically with a person I am not allowed to name(according to an above poster), entertaining, and sometimes informative, even though I disagree with allot of the oposing opinion.

2) I meant no insult by the start of my post. It was meant as a joke.. and it got less funny after it was spun around back to me that somehow I said that "you know who sells them for 120k" and I was the fish. If I said that, then yeah, I was, but since I didn't then I guess I wasn't. Anyway, it was a simple prediction meant in fun. It got blown up into something more somehow. I am sorry that it did, and it was not intended to do that.

3) And last, yeah, I enjoy the discussion on the economics of SWG, and some of the real life ones. I believe the comment that was made about walmart being taken to court for lowballing, was interesting. I said that I never heard that before and thought it was cool that someone knew that fact.

I have nothing against a certain person, am not here to cause any harm, and will always try to be the last to start tossing insults.

I can enjoy the other points of view here, but I don't have to agree with them, and I probably will take a shot at them ocasionally one way or another. Take it with a grain of salt. I am not out to get anyone.
