Thread: PETITION:Urban Planner Buildings Only for Master Architects
As many of you know already from the offical word from the devs, and the rumors before it.... the Urban Planner Proffesion has been scrapt.
Q-3PO wrote: I notice that it says there is only one new profession, Politician. Does this mean you are putting all the Player City Buildings under Architect?
Skedoozy, that’s the current plan.

Also as many of you know, or maybe don't know is that the Architect economy... well it needs a little help. The reason, or atlease one of the big reasons for this, is because there are to many casual architects, one branch architects, novice architects.... Most of these types (not all, its a generalization) make these goods for themselves, their friends, or sell them for extremly cheap prices.
This reason and one more reson to follow, is why only the dedicated Master Level Architects should be able to make Urban PLanner deeds. The other reason, is why do we want to allow none dedicated Architects to make these much.
"An urban Planner should be someone who is devoted to the skill, someone who has taken the extra training needed to build complicated structures like a Shuttle Port. if anything, atleast make it so that they have to get to master architect and spend apprentice points to learn the new profession, even if its just a single block of 4 boxes, each adding more city structures as they go up. " - from Jarun_Thaks
Anyways, I feel, and I think several other architect feel that we need an award for the true, hard working Architects. This was going to be Urban Planner, but since this is scraped, at the very least they should all be put into Master Architect Tree, so there aren't to many people making town halls, shuttle ports, etc. and so us hard working Architects have something unique to make.
Anyways post thought, do the /sign.... just like this point of view of some of the architects get atleast thought about before they do whatever their going to do with the Urban Planner Deeds.
I tell you what. When they finally get us 50 or so City Structures, then I will support a seperate Profession tree.
6 buildings do not a profession make. Neither do a dozen buildings for that matter.
I could be swayed either way. Both for and against below...
The optimal layout for the new tree imo and if they had enough buildings would to have a branch for civilian buildings, a branch for military buildings, then a brach with the normal mods like assembly/experimentation/what have you, then a final branch for mods like city placement possibly upgrading your placement view window to encompass a greater area or having slightly higherleinences when placing structures and best of all, at master being able to move currently placed structures without deeding them. Of course that brings greifing into the picture but what if the politician appointed an UP, whom could only do things in that cities area of influence?
The positive part about cramming urban planner into architect is that if your planning on making a city with your guild or whatnot, your set, your building time will be consumed by that. Its not like you going to be going out and selling these structures to the general populace as your working on making your own city better. This way, it leaves you open to also become a politician. Then you can make andplace your structures! That, definatly is a plus, especially if you become attached to the city your building up and don't want someone to come along and make it go bankrupt and you can have complete control of how your city does and how it progresses.
So I am kind of undecided. It'd be great to be reconized and stand out as an elite elite profession, but I am unaffected by it being put into architect and actually benefit as I won't be competing against the part-time architects because i'll be most involved with my own city. Plus, where's the market for it? Most cities, if not all have their own architect, so who are you going to sell to?
<--signs.
<--prepares self for those that "skill up" on making 76 shuttleports just in case our petition doesn't work.
I agree, if they won't give us an elite elite profession, or something close to it that requires max Structural xp and/or max AP, then only give it to Masters.
oh gawd....with the current # of master architects and even more aspiring ones, there's gonna be a race for urban planner buildings for a week, maybe 2, then that's it. how many shuttleports/medical centers do they think every planet needs? 100? try maybe 5-10 at most per planet. then there's nothing more to be done. i know personally over 10 master archis based in Theed of Naboo on Flurry server alone, and have seen at least a dozen more wandering about. they really do need to make this somewhat hard to get to, collecting a bunch of ore and making walls for 2 days = master archi, (during the same time, a weaponsmith maybe have gotten maybe 1 branch to lv4, maybe started the 2nd branch).
