Selling a PA Halls for 150k? 200k? even 300k? (and all other housing cheap) Just so you can undercut everyone else and make the sale? How moronic can you get? Its not a race to see how many you can sell.

Do you understand that soon there will be no market for them?
One maybe two months from now on the older servers it will die to nothing.
It's already slowing down. You will have not made a profit. You will have nothing
to fall back on. Keep that weapon shined up...

To all those starting on the new servers. I would suggest keeping your prices above 5x (per resource)for non factory made structures (meaning if it doesnt require Identical factory parts to make). Above 6x for factory required made items. above 8x for PA halls because it takes freaking forever to make one.

I have followed that rule and have managed to save a little cash (have 2mil creds).. Im not stinking rich like alot of upper level fighters (you know who you are you Biz Natchers *grin*) Also I have never had any stand around time. I have made constant sales since Day 1 (June 26th) I think 2 mil Creds is a fair price for working your arse off for a month or so If I had less I would feel cheated.

I sell for 300K and, once again, I can't help but get irritated at you architects who complain about people undercutting you. I will never charge what you charge. All of the architects in game who don't even read these boards will not charge what you charge. Thank you for your opinion on pricing once again.

Of course I care about the economy. I'm an architect and a businessman and I would like to see the profession/economic situation work out well long term. I don't believe 300K is an insanely lowprice either. I make a decent profit with that. Simple fact is that if people are going to sell for less than you, as a general rule, they're going to get your business. There are exceptions to that. If people aren't willing to shop around then they may end up paying more. I just get irritated when people tell me what to charge. That's my decision. The housing market will dry up at some point, regardless of what people charge. If I decide to start selling PA Halls for 100K, what difference does that make to you? You're not going to be able to control the prices in game by debating it here on the forums. That's my only real point.

Sedryn - do you realise that your 2 million credits are not real ?

I think you have a reality problem - they are just a number - infact with all those columns used to display your credits , you are probably suffering from more lag than me.

Some of us play this game for fun , not to satisfy our unfullfilled dream to be a capitalist pig.

I will always get joy from undercutting greedy people like you (who are btw also causing inflation ingame ) I just need enough profit to play for another day and there is no diffrence between 1000 and 1000000 credits exept more harder sums to do.

The only real currency ingame is TIME and you are in no position to tell me how to use mine.

And my reward (other than a small credit profit) is, hopefully, being appreciated.

I hope YOU realise that very soon YOU - NOT ME - will no longer have a market

Notice I did not call you a moron

I sold my PA Halls for 500k. Sold about 10 of them. I have given up selling them though and given up selling other structures too. I now intend to just sell my resources. In my opinion 500k is just not worth the effort and hassle involved in their construction, taking on board the catasrophic costs and concern over fails.

I don't think I could be tempted at a pa hall order for 500k (never say never I guess) but there is just no way in this earth I would put myself through the hassle of doing a pa hall for 300k. However, if people are willing to spend their time on a pa hall and ask 300k for it fair enough. Personally I think anyone who wants a pa hall isn't going to be put off by a 500k price tag. I can't say people saying Oh no I don't want a pa hall now cos its 500k kinda thing. Its so simple for a guild to get 500k its unreal, they can get it inside 1 day easily and thats only with a small number in the guild. Personally I think you are underselling yourself, but not gonna castigate you for it, I don't really care. If you want to sell it for 300k fair enough.

Myself, well I'm just selling resources now as its much more stable way to make money, you don't get fails, you don't have the pressure of building, you can just play a profession you enjoy and let the money roll in from harvesters.

I concur. I'm selling resources too. I don't want to risk the failures of PA hall. I don't need the crafting points. I don't need the aggrivation of people who want something for free. That said... hey, sell it for whatever you like. Give it away. This is how an unregulated economy works. Of course, in real life, you would eventually go bankrupt and leave the market; but, hey... this isn't real life.

Sedryn translated:

To all of you that arent charging what i charge please quit. I am so upset by quoting prices to people and them laugh at me or call me a rip off merchant. Despite what i tell others about them returning to buy my product 10 minutes after they laugh at me I have in fact not sold a single building becuase they can find it cheaper. I spew facts of economy and price fixing citing real world examples that honestly just dont exist.

Truth is if I buy that $500 dollar Ralph Lauren shirt it is made with the exact same materials as the $10 Kmart one I just pay for the name.

What you are really saying is that you are tired of not selling and your market to sell is shrinking (as it will never be gone). Lower your prices and make sales or continue to beat your head on the wall. Economies rely on competition (with the exception of Bill gates who no one likes). If they make a profit or not thats their choice if they dont they wont last long enough to see it through.

Blame whoever you want for your failiure but realise this, most of us are making a profit although not huge but then we also get the repeat business and referals so rake in that small profit alot faster than we can provide for. You make your money from people who dont shop or cant wait.

I would say I am sorry but I am not. Just like those PA funded architects arent sorry for starting the whole price crash while grinding for their PA hall in the first week or so. Adapt and overcome or give it up either way quit whining its not going to change.

Um... in real life, I can go to burger joint 1 and get a cheeseburger for $1.99. OR, I can go to burger joint 2 and get an IDENTICAL cheeseburger for $6.99. Which one's gonna go out of business again?

Welll said.

Its the same old problem of the whiners flooding the boards simply because they are whiners and thats what they do.

The happy people dont seem to need to post. (probably would rather play and maybe read something helpfull)

But its nice to see a bit of sanity creeping in.

I just cant resist putting my 2 cents in when I see posts like that.

If the cost to create, market, and sell you that burger is more than 1.99, burger place #1 will go under. It is only a matter of time.

The issue with this game is there is NO real 'cost' associated with building things. One could potentially hand sample all the resources for a PA hall and sell at 1cr and make a profit. OR one could purchase all their materials at 20cr/per unit and need to sell that same PA hall for millions to break even.

The reason real world economic models don't work here, is because there is NO 'cost' on a players time. People who sell low, place a lower value on their time than those who sell high. Who's right? No one, because we're all just playing a game.
