Issue #5 Interior Design
Furniture Colorization Poll Had had a result of 75.8% in favor of furniture colorization by crafting process like the tailors currently have. To participate or view this poll go to this link
Furniture Colorization Poll
There are so many npc furniture peices in game already lets start releasing schematics for these for architects to build. (even if these were release as a prize from non-fighting type quests)
Now that we have more accurate movement and vertical powers interior design is a lot easier to do and much less of a hassle, however there is still 1 more type of movement needed...pitch. We need to be able to slant items to either produce interesting design concepts or even just to make a weapon wall a lot more attractive. Have it occur so that no matter the degrees you are facing it will go left or right depending on the item's horizontal value. It's hard to explain in text but I think you can understand my meaning.
Beyond that...more items available! This cannot be stressed enough. Either a crapload out now and then none or a crawl release of new ones available there just needs to be more choices. Preferably starting with the plants in my opinion but really anything would be more then enough.
Allowing for craftable paintings that can be used in factories and turning the bestine election one to be a truly 1 use schematic would also be interesting, same goes for rugs since Sean hands them out. Easily attainable ones for archs that anyone can have, and the semi rare one you can get monthly.

I agree with most of these ideas, and they seem like things we can realistically expect in the 3 month time frame:
- Ability to color furniture (I prefer via crafting process, but will be thrilled with any mechanism for doing so!)
- Addition of items already in game that we cannot make (style 2, 3, 4 plants, etc.)
- Pitch - who wouldn't want two axes crossed above their entryway? NPC buildings have items rotated along the x and y axis - let us have this ability too (note - this gives a bonus to all players, not just architects, just like/move up)
- Unique decorations as quest rewards - they're obviously popular. I kind of like having them spaced out over a couple of months just to keep them as rare as possible. These items are coveted but do not make anyone "uber," so I feel they're great quest rewards. Cool but not unbalancing.
I'd also like to add a few "pie in the sky" ideas (seen here many times) that we all would probably like, but we have a near-zero chance of actually seeing.
- Wall papering/painting - ability to paint or add a texture to walls of homes
- Home remodeling - ability to modify the floorplan of homes
- Modular decorating components - instead of using end tables and chests to make aquariums, for example, why not have modular, generic pieces with which we could actually make furniture?
Also, I feel there is one issue that is CRITICAL to the continued evolution of interior design:increased housing storage capacity! The /move up command has opened up so many possibilities for creative interior designs, but most of those cannot be realized due to the low item counts in existing homes.
yes most of the points have been made, not a lot to add
1) give us items we see in the game....
2) CUTOMIZE CUSTOMIZE CUSTOMIZE....everything needs to be able to be customized...
3) RACIAL SPECIFIC STUFF ---- we need many NEW items that are specific to the paticulae species like the wookiee life day globes...furniture, art and maybe even housing that reflects the culture of Bothans and Mon Cals etc.
Home remodeling - ability to modify the floorplan of homes
Who also happen to play the game, go to southern illnois university and are fanboys of the films...meaning me. And maybe a few other people I don't know about in the upper classmen bracket.

I think the Devs should intern a couple of in school RL Archs to design their floorplans. LOL

One thing that I find terribly frustrating (living on Corellia) is that the generic and the Corellian houses look exactly the same. If you look at the floorplans on the advanced guide for player housing, they even say the same thing. All other planets are allowed at least two styles (planet and generic) so why should Corellia get the shaft? Another possiblity would be to allow houses to be placed on any planet, regardless of style.
A way to adjust the lighting down in the generic houses would be nice as well. They're way to bright in certain areas to the point that you can't see. I'd rather have them completely dark and rely on crafted lighting than have that.
Interior Decorations eh? Well, even though this could/should be a bug, how about making the large sofas able to hold more than 1 person, without the extras sitting on each others laps. lol. That would be a great addition to said furniture.
Colorization, should be at Architect level and during the building process. For a limited time, allow for colorization kits, but once that 'time limit' is up, take them completely out of the game, including deleted the code for using one. Sure would help keep people from making 1000 units of it and only selling 20. lol. It's more of a protective measure for people like me that can't count.
If they can code all this neat stuff for the NPC cities and houses and buildings and such, why can't we? Plants, more pictures *aside from the nice little wait 2 weeks to get a new one at the Bestine Museum deal*
I'd honestly like to see shelving units that we can add to our houses/PA Halls/City Halls/ etc. etc. that we can physically stack items on.
How about trunks, chests and other stuff that actually store items, but don't count against the houses storage capacity, kind of like what your back pack does when it's strapped to your back.
