Well I'm not an architect, but would really like the Architect profession to grow.
->I would love to see the use of some real color and custom jobs, (On site house decor etc) Another great money making idea for Architects.
->The addition for the new movement controls has add a altime high for furniture. How about some hanging lights, rugs, wall covers anything. I would like some hanging lights, I'm tired of moving candels to match up on the end of a wooded stick hanging from the ceiling.

Most importantly - - how about a flipp'n lightswitch! What good are lights, candles, etc if I can't create a darkened room that needs light? ? (How about an adjustable dimmer switch thingy so the owner can control/change it) It is really hard to create a roleplaying atmosphere in a bright as day cafe' or cantina.

I would like to see what alot of other people are saying, (Species art, color and all)but I'm kind of big on the adjustable light. It would actually make all the lighting options useful (the new stuff is really nice).

Sorry about the tone of this post, but I 'm so excited about the improvements added that I want to be able to use them . . Alot! ! ! I have spent over 40k in furniture in the past 2 days decorating my 2 houses . . . Great job Architects ! ! keep the goods coming!

Ability to adjust:

interior light levels, including overhead lights (lights that shine down)

interior house colors

Exterior housecolors

Interior wall texture/patterns

Floor patterns/textures

Allow each room to be controled. I have one room that is a workshop, that would obviously look different in color and texture than my bedroom. The thing that really makes a house home is its uniqueness, the touches of individuality.

Also the ability to rotate items in the other 2 dimensions, how cool and fitting would it be to walk into a cantina and see overturned chairs and spilled drinks.

How bout beds that we can lie on?

This was just a crazy idea I had, but hell, many good things have been born from crazy ideas.

What if, still with me here? What if we were to have the floors, walls and ceilings set up like outside....I mean having a grid where we can easily place things like we use when placing buildings? [Shields self from flying fruit and vegetables] Hear me out! I know that many designers like being able to merge models, thus making really cool designs, but what if this were an option for the lazier people? I mean, you could go into "decorating mode" or something silly like that. Maybe while in "decorating mode" you could turn the grid on or off, but would still be able to use that kind of system to decorate your house.

[Cleans himself off and tends to his wounds] I'm gonna step down and let me know what you think.

Flame away.

Not an Architect but I've thought about becoming one. Most of these have already been mentioned

  • Colorization kits for walls and floors inside a house.

  • Colorization of furniture.

  • Ability to place items on porches, courtyards of large housesand guildhall rooftops. These should count as part of the house.

  • Maketrunks, and armoirs actually store stuff like backpacks do.

  • Loveseats should be able to seat 2 people and couches should be able to seat 3.

  • Ability to lay on beds.

  • The room purpose designation idea would be really cool.

  • More decorative items like rugs, plants, pictures, etc. Both craftable and quest.

  • Being able to turn things on their axis would be nice like others have said. So you can hang a sword horizontally for example.

  • Stone squares for mayors to lay down as roads in player cities.

  • More house designs. I love the large naboo house but its layout is horrible IMHO.

  • More gardens.

That's about all I can think of right now. The addition of the up and down movement was great. I hope they show more love to the Architects in the near future.

More furniture variety is content for all players not just architects.

The species specific furniture is a really really good idea. Let Wookies make there home more Wookie like. (I am picturing large Rattan furniture here.)

This is one of the best things we can offer the game right now, I think the dev’s should really make it a goal to include several new pieces of furniture in every publish.

Question: How many people who voted in the color poll actively do interior design?

Comment: Please let the Devs know that other professions think ours needs alot of work. We have had 3 responces to this threed so far from non-arches saying we need more content.

Ok 2 things and Im done.

1) Outdoor item placement: It would be nice if this was not limited to the deck or porch but extended to the edges of the buildings footprint itself. Can you see the courtyards infront of cityhalls? lol Look at all the wased space infront of them now wouldnt it be nice to use that for somthing? Or poted tree privicy fences infront of player houses. Or a flower bed. Great things could come of this and it would eliminate part of that straril feel in player citys.

2) This relates to item one. More Items in houses!!! This has been said already but cant be stressed enough. 1 large house takes 5 lots and yeilds 250 items of storage space. 2 small houses (style 1) take 4 lots and yield 300 why?? If large houses held more then more of us would have them and it would HELP with the data base problems. As it is with the new verticial placement you cant properly decorate a large house anymore. It was hard enough before to do it right. 150 is more then enough to do a small. And 150 can do a medium quite with only a few holes but a large is so big that 250 items isnt near enough. O and why is it that a small and medium are both 2 lots and both hold 150 items? Isnt a medium just a small floorplan 3 that cost a little more to keep up?

3) I knowI said two just bare with me. Furniture: I know why it was made soft state a month after release. For those who dont, players were griefing each other by "locking" each other in there house by droping a table or chair infront of the door. Now days however, we have the /eject command. If this was publisied in the loading screens then everyone would know about it. Thus furniture could go back to hard state. I dont know about the rest of you but nothing drives me nuts more then walking thru my large sofa at home. I walk in my house and prefer others too as well and I try to walk around furniture when Im not in a rush but still... Can we please get this changed back? Just advertise the /eject command and all should be well. Sides havent the griefers moved on to biger better things? Id like to know how the rest of you feel abut this and I think ill copy it to a new threed so give me a min and flame me there please lets keep this one on track.

Thank You,

I agree with most of these ideas, and they seem like things we can realistically expect in the 3 month time frame:

Something else that would be really cool and really simple, is to make the craftable toolchests/armoires/etc have a storage capacity.

Would do a whole lot for interior design to see a bunch of chests and drawers than a buch of bags floating/hanging on the wall.

Fish that bob up and down like the seeker droids. Some fish for mounting, as they are now and some for Aquariums to look real.

Burning logs for Fireplaces. Or a move below the ground command for the existing torches. Or better yet , give me a saw.

I like using structure modules as bricks, but how 'bout some bricks, like Leggos to build interior designs with?

Palm Trees for indoor use. Vines, Ivy, tons of new plants.

Small indoor fountains. More assorted small statuary.

Bar tops instead of using cafe tables. Shelving for bars with bottles. Posters, dart boards, bar taps, kegs.

Stereos, Plasma flat screen TV displays.

Food displays, more plated foods, silverware, Candelabras.

Glass panels you can assemble.

New machines that look cool that you could use for workshops.

Desks, real ones. Monitors, and keyboards.

Toys, I can only use so many Bantha statues. Vases with flowers, new flowers. China Hutches. Closets. Clothing racks.

I could go on forever, but when you think of interiors just look at the "Sims" games and youll get the right idea.

Here's another good one that would require a little bit of artwork, but be easy to implement quickly.

Give several different types of signs, with cool appearance, that could be dropped in houses. Maybe some freestanding and some wall mounted. This item would be handled like a backpack is right now, except no storage, of course. If you right click on the sign, which I'm thinking would have a generic name when you craft it, you get an option to "change sign," like the option comes now to "set name" or whatever it is now on backpacks. Then you put your message on there, and the name of the item changes to the text you typed in... So now when you display it, people can hover over it and get the message that you wanted to relay. This would replace the generic bone armor segments that most people use (on Ahazi at least), and would be a lot more appealing to the eye. I'm thinking if this were implemented, they would be desired by tons of people.

And if you want a renewable source of income from them, just make it so the name can only be set on it once. (Although this might not be as easy to implement as the "backpack with new art and no storage" implementation.

Anyone else want signs?
