Thread: Critical Failures no longer remove resources
--Celinda
I lost a medium generic planet house on final assembly last night. Funny thing is that i sat and made a bunch of extra structure modules first until i got a failure and then did the final assembly of the house immediately after. Nothing quite like losing 20k in resources in one mouse click.
The critical failure should be removed from the final assembly process, or at least some of the materials should be salvageable. Why do I feel like I am talking to myself?
Yah critical failure happen A LOT MORE often I criticaled 3 HEAVY harvester out of 5 NO LUCK TODAY JEEZ
They gave the Furniture line some love.
Now it doesn't matter if you have furniture, you fail a lot more under all circumstances now. ![]()
Be sure to check your crafting tool's effectiveness. I found that I have less crits when using tools that are fully experiemented on and made with good componenents.
It is patch day, that means anyone who even logs on is taking their characters existence into their own hands let alone taking a chance on some very expensive combines.
If you have to log top up a few harvesters if they need it, send a few tells and just sit back and watch the virtual grass grow.
"Seems tools lose effectiveness with age as well. Time to make new tools. "
- I just about spit soda all over my screen when I read this... THAT'S why I'm failing so much, I thought!! I haven't made new tools since week 1!
- But then I looked at my tools. The sturdy ones I made at week 1 have an effectiveness of 12.5. Hmm. So I made a non-experimented tool... bottom of the line. IT'S effectiveness was... -10.5!!
- Then I made one with experimental effectiveness of 57%. That one turned out at 3.5 effectiveness. So, my original tools are still FAR better than one I just whipped up, and even better than one I casually experimented on.
- BTW, I got those 90% tools back when I was grinding artisan. I just crafted away until I had an Amazing Success and then perfect experimentation.
- So, while it may be true that tools lose their effectiveness over time, mine don't seem to have done so yet from week 1.
Everyone with me.. say it

Like in EverQuest there was always streaks of hits or misses or bad/good rolls. And like what will probably continue here endless kicking the dead horse debates about the causes or super secret ways to get around it. Sacraficing dead chickens on your keyboard then using the beak to click assemble will never crit..
You will have good days and bad, if you actually account for it in pricing and policies it won'tbankrupt you unless you get Munson'd.
