Nosing around the Starsider boards, I find this price list from an architect near me on my planet.

Houses:
Small=7K planet / 8K generic
Medium=40K planet / 45K Generic
Large=85K planet / 90K Generic

Harvesters:

Small Items:
All Personals=850c
Wind=700c

Medium Items:
Mineral=15K
Water=20K
Flora=30K
Gas=25K
Chem=25K
Solar Power=15K

Large Items:
Mineral=75K
Gas=75K
Chem=75K
Water=75K
Flora=75K
Fusion Ion Power=85K

Factories=25K
PA Halls=185K for planet halls / 200K for Generic

So **edit**. Factories for 25k. Large house for 85k. So the heavy harvs are priced at 3 CP/R ,at least. Large Houses are 2 CP/R..... The factories are priced at 1.85 CP/R. Med harvs are all 2 CP/R.

I'm just going to start selling all my resources and go combat. This is ridiculous. There's also a Novice I talked to selling for 1-2 CP/R and he's proud to advertise that other architects hassle him. I offered him a job building wall modules at 9k a pop, and he was surprised I would pay so much....but he hasn't made any yet. Selling at 1 CP/R for an order of five smalls must be really good money......I hate to see Novices get taken advantage of, but what else can you do?

I should ask for five PA Halls from this other guy. Liable to be a crit fail at least once, right?

I actually bought an equipment factory for 25K on Eclipse for myself. I could sell the 13430 resources it takes to make oneon the bazaar for 40K and give him 25K of it and net myself 15K in the black for a factory. It's like the guy is giving you 15K and the factory. Does that make sense or what!?!

Man I feel for you because I'm exactly in the same boat as you or I should say same server as you. I'm just watching my spending for now and biding my time till Urban Planner comes out but it does suck.

I've just had this happen to me on Tarq. Some madman is selling Heavies for 75k. Heck, I buy walls for 9k each...for a heavy mineral thats 63k for the walls alone. I've made a decision to just make my own stuff unless someone specifically requests something from me. If I need money I'll just sell resources and stockpile the rest for future useage. There was a point a couple weeks ago where I rarely seen an arch running around in town. Now it seems like everyone and their brother is an arch. The really sad thing is that if I was a combat class I could have went to dant or where ever it was and done like everyone else, making millions of credits an hour doing missions instead of trying to sell a harvester that took 2 days to mine the resources for, 1 day to make all the factory parts for, and the risk of criting the whole thing for 2-5 cr per unit of resource.

I hate to say it but I think in order to opperate heavy miners you should have to be a master in arch, ws, as, etc.. At the very least this would cut down on the dabblers who just go up the harvester tree.

Lol, I am going to do exactly that, if he has anything left by the time I get home today My friend told me about him last night before I logged out so once I get the cords to his shop, ALL his harvesters will be gone :GRIN

Vyper what planet?

I charge 50k for meds. 35k for factories 100k for all heavys. I've had no problem selling and often had to turn people away because I was too busy.

Um...You guys all do know that it only costs maybe 1-3 credits/resource to pull outta the ground, right? Except for the ore, and that's like maybe 4 - 5 creds/resource....

Vargus add in the costs of having to re-deed miners and the costs of failing on heavys and see how much profit you make. I got over 2 million creds selling at my prices and I have plenty of customers.

Brian, I'm on Naboo, near Keren. I charge comparably on a couple things. I sell heavies for 110k, 55k for meds, 55k for factories. I was actually selling more factories than anything else.

I have the resources onhand, and with a little structure factory time, to probably make ten heavy harvesters. In the lapse of orders lately, I managed to upgrade all my harvs to heavies.

Vargus, what are you trying to say by that? Almost every price quoted here is 3-4 CP/R.Are you saying prices should be higher? Now tell the undercutters to stop selling for 1-2 CP/R and we'll all gradually raise our prices, it was working for awhile. *shrug*

When a guy drives you out of business, it is not that he is bad at business.

Sam Walton drove a lot of people out of business. While he made billions for his family.

What the origonal poster said here, is that he cannot compete with someone who is doing business better than he is.

No, what I think the original poster said is it's not worth his time to compete with those prices. You can't drive someone out of business in this game. It's not like they can't put food on their table.
