Thread: Underpriceing
I just ran accross another architect, a master this time....
selling heavies at 70-80k?????!!!!!
Mediums at 10k?!?!?!
What is this world coming to...
I guess i am only complaining because i had two customers cancel their order to buy from the guy.
If I had the money I would buy them and resell them ...
oh well...such is the life of a beginning archie.
Those prices allow for some profit, but not a lot. That is about what I charge my PA members for items. Retail is just under twice that.
I admit I am a new architect and I am pricing low to get business. I typically price at 120 for a heavy extractor. After this guy posted his prices three of my customers cancelled. I dont really blame them that much they got 3 for the price of 2 of mine. Another asked me to drop my prices to match...I may drop them slow but oh well.
It just hurts. I hope he has time to play and not just grind.
80K is a good value for the customer, Im not surprised they bought from the guy. It is even less than I charge, I am curious, were they full 10 BER harvestors?
At 80K he is still making a large profit if hepulled the materials himself, I could easily compete at that price, if I needed too, havent needed too yet.
Waste, On orders I cant fill right away I often also ask for a down payment of at least 25% for the same reason. I dont on return customers, but I do on inital ones.
I am selling my heavies for 75k........
But the order is for 15.
Treano
why do you think we should charge more?
I charge 3CPU +/- a few k depending.
I make PLENTY of profit at that rate. I do all my own harvestign of just about everything so I rarely buy anything unless I need small amounts quick to fill an order.
I have done real well at this price as I get plenty of referals and re-orders from existing customers.
I price everything at 3CPU. Makes it easier for me and is what I consider a fair price for my customers.
No way am i making harvesters and selling em for 3cpm when i can just sell the material and be done with it.
On top of that all i hear are master architects undercutting the prices just to make a sale and say 'well i still make a profit', followed by the architects who cant sell anything because they try and keep the prices sane. Most of all the market is gonna be saturated soon enough without decay, and instead of keeping prices high to reduce this saturation... we actively add to that problem by selling cheaper and cheaper so the whole process speeds up even more.
I guess thats what you get when you have a player run economy... you get a player scr3wed up economy aswell.
sorry daryl again shows that he got no clue about business, but thats nothing new.
you say he got large profit. ? crap is that, since u get for selling the pure resources for it way more credits.
u know daryl what u are missing? the sense of calculation. if u sell the resources or make them into items is your choice but as long u can get more money for the pure resources u make actually a minus and not a win, even when u get the resources cheaper then for what u sell them.
what u are calculation is a ghost win but no real profit.
you have to count in compare the cash u could get for pure resources and not anything else.
over and out
hope someday u would really notice the lag of logic in your argumentations.
PS: i wont answer anymore since i know what u would say and i disagree, its your right to talk trash with wrong bases tho. thats called liberty, but most wont agreee with you.
Of course he got a large profit, He sold for over 6 times what it cost thim to gain the raw materials. 600% profit is a good profit. Most businesses would kill to be able to make a 600% profit.
hmm daryl i guess u ddint read really what veers said.
if you would read carefully you see that u are totally wrong.
if u sell your resources without any work or risk for more then a structure then u got on that prices the original poster said no profit at all, since you can get for same stuff on easier way more money.
so business like spoken you dont get the point sadly it seems.
you got a win on your product, but you could without work and risk get mroe for same used resources.
its so easy to understand why you cant get it?
