Thread: Is power consumption on harvestors bugged?

If I remember right maintence is 90 and power consumption is 75, but if I put in credits and power to get 6 days worth on both, I will run out of power days sooner than the maintence.

I believe what you are seeing is just a display bug. If you turn your harvester on/off then refresh Status it should be correct. AFAIK, power usuage is working correctly, just the display isn't.

I have noticed this as well, where the time runs double speed for power

It is buggy for me. Last night I found two of my harvesters had zero power (4 days before they should have). I put in another 30k of power, did a refresh and there was only 27k left (like there was -3k in reserves).

This is simply a display bug guys, nothing to worry about. Something that carried over from the hotfix patch applied to harvestors. Simply remindied by turning harvs on and off. As you can see, when you acess the harvester it is indeed still running. This may be in some way linked to the harvestor animation not playing, which was bugged by the 11/13 patch. Minor, but it came with it's slew of other problems yet to be addressed.

It's not just a display bug not worthy of reporting. Yes, it will continue to run. But if you redeed it while the display says 0, it will have 0 power carried over.

Example: Put 8 days in. Resource shifts on day 4 and power is 0. Ok we know this. Redeed. Look at the deed and it has 0 power. You just lost 4 days of power to a "Minor display bug".

It's a bug that needs to be reported and I hope it's not ignored due to the missinformation in this thread saying it's harmless. It is not just an display bug and the priority on this one needs to be bumped up.

I had the same thing this morning witrh a Chemical extractor, but I had heard about the turn off/on trick. I turned off the harvester and then turned it on, checked andthe 0 power had changed toover 5K of power.

/bump - Hoping it'll get resolved.

I've been seeing this too. I'll put 1200 power in on a medium extractor. That should give me 24 hrs. I come back a day later, and I have 0 power. But when I pay another 1200 it puts me back at 0. This tells me that the power consumption rate was doubled so that it actually ate through the 1200 and went into the negative 1200. Theoretically I could just let the extractor run in the negative all the time. I could just put 1200 on it, verify that it's now at 0, then let it eat into the negative for 1200. This will at least keep me from having to pay double maintenance. We have a large extraction operation running, and paying double power would hurt.

Heh, what am I talking about? I just realized the flaw in my thinking. If I put it back at 0, it's just going to continue to eat at double the rate.... LOL.... yeah, whether I like it or not, I'm paying double the power. I've tried turning it off and on, but the rate at which it eats up my power doesn't change.

Yes I think you're right. I made another round on my harvesters last night. I only had 200 power left. Turned it off and back on, ended up with 2450.

Ah, I give up LOL.

hmm. I was thinking it had to do with the PE of the energy used. Lower PE = faster energy usage? That is what I thought it was anyway..

PE is caculated by the game while it is put in. After that, all power on the harvestor is 1:1 ratio.

Changing resources then changing back will also reset the display to the correct value. It will still continue to eat power at double the rate though.

So don't redeed when the display says 0 power or your harvestor will not carry any power over. Try to get it to display the correct value first.

fix plz
k thx
