What could would crates of 100 do us? Really no one buys 100 harvs. 10 harvs would be great but I sell more single harvs than I would crates of 10! Even then I have to make heavy's, medium, and personal. On top of that you have to include houses, cities, and guild items! Ridiculous!
our stuff is not the only thing made in the factories.... and this doesnt say that you have to make a full 100.... items..
also wait till you make a large run of walls... 1000 walls.. 100 stacks of 10 unit crates.... see where I am going with this..
and the idea is that you could stack items up to the 100 unit cap... Place them on the vendor.. ( thus using 1 item spot ) and set a PER item price.... you buyer come to my vendor select the stack of 100 units at xxxx price per unit.. a prompt comes up asking how many units do you want..?? 1-100..... you say how ever many you want...... and walla ... pretty simple.. for seller and buyer...

I suggested something similar in the Merchant forums. If they allowed for crates to be put into a vendor and then its up to customer to decide on the quantity, I'll be more receptive to limits being placed.
However, the vendor limits must be higher if your Master Merchant; i.e, one who actually has the SP spent for it. That, or you get a 7th vendor at Master Merchant. Something has to given for dedicating that many points.
Two Words: Social Interaction
The whole point of this, this merchant 'nerf' is so that we talk to eachother. Same with no more recursive macros. This means no more buffbots, no more identical sets of everything, doctors that have a macro that says: pay up, no more starports that are full but empty. IT IS A Massively MULTIPLAYER Online Roleplaying Game! Devs are making the NPC's harder. They are trying to kill solo-groups. Its all about Social Interaction!!!
This just made my list of all time stupid things I've ever seen on these boards. I cannot BELIEVE that you could possibly bring this up in a discussion about vendor item limits in the architect thread. Are you completley daft? This game isn't designed around people standing around in a friggin starport manually spamming that they are selling XYZ. Its about being able to craft items and for the other people to not have to run around trying to find a live player to sell them XYZ. Its a certain level of acceptable convenience. Forcing people to find me online every time to buy something forces me to be online.
SOE doesn't give a rats ass how long we are online, so long as we pay the $15 a month. They'd be happier if we WEREN'T on alot, since that would reduce the server load. Which is the whole point of this nerf... reducing database loads.
I've spent half the day talking to other crafters in the mall I just joined, and they all agree with me. This isnt' worth fighting. If SOE is so out of touch with their customer base as to even suggest this, much less implement it, then it may be time to move on.
