I keep hearing about this command and haven't used it yet cause I think a few things are missing.

1. How do you specify which structure? Do you have to have it targeted or is there a unique serial number? All my harvesters are named the same. Can you please post a complete string? Example:

/transferstructure house123 characterabc

2. If you transfer a house does anything happen to the items in the house? I have a vendor placed, can I still access the vendor and put up sales? I assume if I have something dropped and I transfer the house I can no longer pick up the item due to the bug?

To transfer a house you have to be inside the house, I believe. To transfer an installation, you have to have the structure targetted and type /transferstructure (name)

There is probably more you can do, but that is what I have done and I know that works.

One other note: If you transfer a structure make sure the person you transfer it to has admin access to it BEFORE you transfer it. I created a small house for a guildie, transferred it to him, then he couldn't get in. If you do that, log out and in (or wait a few min, not really sure which it was) and the new owner gets access.

Note sure what happens to the furniture. I'll try it today and see.

This is the first I've heard of this command. So, who's lot allotment is used after the transfer? If I build a miner (1 lot) and transfer it to somebody else . . . does the lot come out of my or his 10 lot allotment?

/transferstructure can work in 2 ways. You can target the structure and type /transferstruture Charname to transfer it to the person, or you can stand inside the structure (next to it for installations) and target the person you want to give it to and type /transferstructure by itself.

It gives the structure to the person completely. It uses their lots and everything, as if they were the ones who placed it.

So does this work for PA halls also? I placed the hall myself so I can furnish it, but now Im dreading it as I sorely need my struc factory back. I cant be waiting all day for guildies to log on, as I have orders constantly coming in.

And if so..how about the furniture already placed? Will i not be able to pick it up? I ask because in my workshop in the back I have all my backpacks with resources, building components etc. Should I pick these up before I transfer? Thanks!

have they nerfed this....

i am trying to transfer some structures to a player a few planets away...

if i stand next to the harvetsor and type /transferstructure Joe it gives me the message You must specify a player to transfer ownership to

If i target it and type the same thing it tells me Target must be a player

so it appears that this guy sis going to have to travel 1/2 way across the galaxy which is why i was placing it to save him the trip

Actually, Naufragus, this is good news.

I was afraid I'd be able to /transferstructure a couple low-end harvesters to ANYONE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME.

Imagine this scenario. Some griefer hears that so-n-so is about to build a PA hall, he then goes and buys two harvesters, (1000 apiece on my server, at least in the bazaars,) goes to a very high level planet, (another 1000, probably,) and places them in a sure-death area. No concern for the actual resources available. Then he loads them up with however much money he can afford to do part with, keeping them even, and /transferstructure's both of them to the PA HALL builder.

Since I've heard a PA hall uses 9 lots, this would mean that no matter HOW manystructures thePA leaderpulled down, he'd not have enough lots free to put up the PA hall.

So hearing that you can't /transferstructure to someone unless they are Right There, is good news.

I tried this last night. Did not have an issue with permission after transfer. Transferred it to someone with 100 Meters but they were not in sight or targeted.

Problem arose, they could not transfer it back. Gave the target must be a person error. Perhaps there is lag before you can transfer back or he wasn't doing it correctly. Fortunately I wanted it torn down anyway.

I believe for sure the person has to be logged into transfer to them. I am not certain about proximity as I have had mixed results as far as when it works or doesn't. Have not attempted an off world transfer yet.

Be nice if you could /transferlot

Still no word on what happens to the items in the transferred structure?

...and as a follow up to the message below...

I had a house transferred to me and didn't get a WP in my datapad for it. I had to set my own WP. That being the case, the PA Hall Builder would never know where the structures are.

Ok, I tried this with a factory, a harvester and a small house full of items and a vendor.

It all worked as Meplorium explained. They all transferred over without a hitch. When the items are transferred the admin lists are cleared so you will have to add those people again.

And the items, such as a vendor and backpacks, are still fine in the house after transfer?
