Currently there's a million quote...

small house have been sold from 5k to 15k

med have been seen from 45-60k in vendors...

Large house are normally going for 80k or even below but the normal price should be around 150k...

Make walls keep them in your bank wait for all those architects to bankrupt and leave the market...

Heh you can say that again. I was offered 400k plus all resources for one today and turned it down without skipping a beat.

Don't listen to him, you'll never sell anything asking that much for houses.

Nonsense. Those prices are quite reasonable. Or they will be once the idiots give up and quit flooding the market with cheap houses.

Do a community search for Architect. Compare the results of that search with the results for another "Luxury Item" profession, Tailor. Guaranteed there will be four to ten times as many Architects as Tailors.

Ok, this is just my personal opinion. I've just really started crafting items and am no where near where I want to be before I start selling anything. However, by looking at the bazaar and various other sources for resources on average the price of a single unit of any resource is 5 credits. This being said some of the crafters aren't charging enough for their products and others are charging to much. Lets take a PA Hall for example. There's a total of 55,368 in various resources, not sure if this includes the special components you have to have in order to make it or not.

In order to break even you want to charge the cost of the resources * the quantity. In this case it's 5*55368 or 276,840 credits. If you extract all of your own resources the cost per unit does go down, but that means you get a little profit. Now if you want to make a profit on this you charge a respectable markup on the item. A 30% markup is considered respectable. So that PA Hall would cost 359,892 credits.

On the other end you have them small houses... 10k for one... Dude your losing money (according to the average of resource costs). There is a total of 3,388 units of resources that go into making one. At 5 credits a pop that's 16,940 credits for you to make it. Here again attach the 30% markup and you have 22,022 credit cost.

This really goes true for any crafting profession. It's truly sad to see crafters lose money just because they want to make a sale.

Totally agree with person above, I REFUSE to sell any of my products for any less than 5 credits per unit used to make them. If I sell it at 5 credits per unit im basically breaking even at what I can sell raw materials on the bazaar for.

The reason people charge so much for a PA hall is because it is a pain in the rear to make. Especially considering a critical failure on one would eat up a huge amount of your resources and time.

No one with half a brain is buying resources for 5/unit and making houses with them. It doesn't cost me over 1/unit to make a house, and that's my upper-end expense. My markups are just under 200%, and that is just fine. I do not lose money selling a small house for 10k, but rather I make a nice profit. Factoring in about 20% cost of failure risk, I am still making steady progress upwards.

Those of you that want to sell your stuff for 5x resources, please do! I can use the business.

finally, daynn, the voice of reason!

seriously, I urge all archs to do a cost analysis of their mining scheme. if they are paying over 1 credit per unit then they are doing something wrong.
